i think fastest way to close your pc without losing any files is by HIBERNATING your pc.

i hear that if u continually to hibernate instead of shutting down, ur computer wil begin to slow down, maybe due to memory management issue as you never really release all the memory in hibernating as in shutting down.
does this argument hold water? |

^ I don't think this tweak is for startup process.. this tweak is for killing apps and services, not starting it..

if u wan fast, press "ctrl+alt+del" bring out the task manager,
hold down ur "ctrl" key, go to "shutdown" --> "turn off", u will turn off ur pc instantly just like u pull off the power cable but again, XP wont save changes |

so it is better to shutdown or hibernate???
I also found out if the hibernate portion is contiguous, then the startup and the hibernating procedure is faster. i personally always use hibernate, only once in awhile shutdown. |

Better use shutdown, don't always overtime your computer memory usage..., yes it makes you shutdown your computer faster depend what your computer is now...
But..., hibernate..., no different better shutdown because hibernate only restart your computer and start at the same thing just like you are monitored on Windows..., for what ?? just hibernates... ?? ..... This post has been edited by pengiranijam: Apr 28 2005, 08:46 PM |
