As many of you know we will be featuring a new Battleground, a dedicated world PvP zone and all new PvP items in Wrath of the Lich King. In order to make the transition from The Burning Crusade to Wrath of the Lich King flow as smoothly as possible, all accrued honor points will be reset at the launch of the expansion. We do this to ensure select players do not have an unfair advantage at level 80 from stockpiling honor to instantly purchase the newest Wrath of the Lich King PvP rewards. For those with unspent honor points prior to the release of the expansion, we will be offering a few upgrades and special rewards in next content patch solely for purchase via the honor system.

I read special items and now that's all I care about. Screw the upgrades what are those "special" things going to be?

Same as others have posted, curious about what will happen with pvp tokens/badges accumulated? possible to get a blue to clarify this please?
Marks of Honor will be wiped as well.

Burned through 75k honor on my Shaman (lol) on getting some S2 Enhancement (lol) items. Not because I'm unwilling to let them disappear in waste, but because I like to PvP and I might as well use them while regaining them doing PvP while waiting for 3.0 patch. It's all I do anyway, just login and do the daily PvP and some bgs. I'm not sure why I'm even still playing this game sometimes.

My hunter's already full S2 long ago and just doing casual BGs everyday he just hit 70k honor before they announced this change. Looks like I can get the cape/trinket right off the bat.

go arena and get some s4? only need 1 partner. or 4 if you prefer 5v5 like i do.

I play a Shaman and a Hunter, 2 of the worst (IMHO) Arena classes. I don't use those VPN thingies so I'm pretty much stuck on 800 to 1k ms (on a good day. I tried Arena before, best I did was 1750s in S2 2v2 with a Fury Warrior (lulz) while wearing quest blue/greens (skipped S1 cause I was leveling elsewhere) on my Elemental Shaman.

I kinda prefer the larger-scale, objective based PvP; which is why I'm still sitting on the fence about Warhammer Online. Too bad my best friend isn't getting it (he's on a Mac but mostly budgetary concerns), else I would have jumped ship to try the much vaunted siege battles.

It's too bad all Blizz came up with is Lake Wintergrasp. There isn't a new BG out, is there?

No Honor reset at the release of WotLK

We had hoped that the introduction of some new Honor rewards in the upcoming patch would give players a great opportunity to spend any of their remaining Honor. However, many players would still be surprised by an Honor and token reset as it isn’t something we’ve done in the past. As such, we've decided to not reset Honor or tokens upon the release of Wrath of the Lich King. Players who save their Honor will be able to spend it on level 80 rewards, although those rewards will be significantly more expensive than their level 70 counterparts.

Curse of Doom now summons a Doomguard only if the target yields experience or HONOR.
