actually vista has a lof of flaws.............................. but it has improved a lot since sp1, although still not as reliable wit good old xp. ie, slow in opening folder wit a lot of files, more often (compared 2 xp) program not responding especially wen copying file. note: vista user, dun use cut paste as it will expose 2 greater risk of lost of data.
no doubt, u'll encounter s/w incompatibility if u use vista.
so ts, really depends on ur usage. if u use ur pc as workstation, running developers s/w, stick wit xp.
untill now, i still found dat d only reason 2 upgrade 2 vista is gamer who wants DX10.

QUOTE(FarCry3r @ Oct 3 2008, 02:36 PM) I use development software, teh good old Visual Basic 6.0, on Vista, and it's running fine, no problem maaa.... I also never experience data lost when cut paste any files or informations... depends also, but i'm sure xp support wider range of developer tools den vista. QUOTE(Aquariusdenz @ Oct 3 2008, 05:45 PM) thats why he said wait till more powerful pc release... anyway... vista use more resource than xp.. dont you say you dono know this.. very true indeed. in fact, vista is slower. vista might b fast in logging & shutdown, but slow startup if u hav many startup program. as i've mention earlier, vista also slower @ loading/opening folder wit lots of files.

QUOTE(FarCry3r @ Oct 4 2008, 08:37 PM) that's natural, before WinVista was available, lots of developer tools are developed for Win98. When WinXP is bloated with security holes and bugs where Microsoft didn't want to patch it up, that's when you're going to realize, developer tools will shift it focus to Vista... come on, Vista is only around for like, 2 years? Do you happen to remember when WinXP was available at the end of 2001? It was bloated, resource-hogging, non-compatible, etc etc. The same thing is happening again with Vista. It just the same thing all over again. yup, it took sum time 4 users 2 actually switch 2 xp last time. but dis time, vista & windows 7 rease a bit 2 close 2 each other. i think most people will just wait 4 windows 7 & might skip vista. i still think vista is not worth it as main OS. may b a secondary OS 2 play around. vista is like a small kid dat still hav a lot 2 grow.
