Strange, why so many ppl says Vista is unstable? I've been using original Vista ultimate x64 and every program I've installed works just fine.

XP has retired. It's time to move on to Vista dude!! I like XP but I love Vista.

The requirements are the same as Vista (but may be more) so why don't use Vista for now? Knowing that all Windows 7 requirements are same...

If you are planning to get windows today, go get vista..

after you update it with SP1, i can say my vista is doing great, no stability probs so far..yes, there has been some issues of stability in the past for vista OS, but many of them has been corrected with SP1..why choose vista over xp?for me the main reason is DX10..many new features in vista are also great..just explore it yourself nod.gif nod.gif

but buy original..ive used both pirated and original, and i can say the pirated one can potentially give you headaches..buy original yaa icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

Some of the older softwares might not work well or at all in Vista.

List it down. Honestly, the "some" are so rare and old, they are not even supposed to be used anymore.

I hate it when people say "wait for Vienna" or "Wait for Windows 7" when they have no idea when it's going to be out, or even WHAT or HOW the OS was built.
For one, it's based 100% on the Vista core, and the only thing you would see is
- Change of UI
- Intergrated sidebar on desktop
- WinFS
- DX11
So basically waiting for a windows that would take like another 2~3 years down the road (Honestly with the rate of the build coming out, I'd say it would take another 4 years to finish) when it would perform the same with Vista, which basically is a lot better than XP right now, sounds kinda stupid.

And TS, just get Vista. Security wise, and ease of use wise, it's good. Memory management is miles better than XP, and you are future proofed.

you said it yourself. XP is waaaay too old for current hardwares. If you want faster OS, why don't you use Windows 98? It got loads of "unofficial" security fixes, updates etc.

It's not soon, XP is out of production already.

vista is great in a sense that when it starts up there is no "dead period" like XP whereby the first few seconds after start up, every program or action you do or click on cannot open immediately.

You are wrong. It's just people that have nothing to do and bash Vista making up stories as they go along. believe me, when Vienna is released, the very same people would also do the same thing to it. Honestly, they are not pleased untill everyone uses linux.
