slowly get used to it man....

the stand part....yeah the keyboard is low....last time i oso prefer my Dell which has a MUCH higher stand...then change to G15V1...didnt take long for me to adapt to it...its actually better to protect against RSI.


my way of accidentally pressing the G keys..... i set the G keys i always press to the ctrl button. so that way if i terpress it still works (sort of). either that...or nuttin happens....then slowly just be aware of the G keys...then kow tim.

screenshots of my macros for my G15v1 at the office.... they may look like simple names...but trust me the keystrokes for some of them is friggin LONG!!!

M1 is for most usages.... mainly SPSS syntax writing.




M2 reserved for any special one-off macros needed


M3 reserved for another software for data entry...which has ridiculously long and complicated keystrokes. only half used but the other half is used for special occasions in the software which is quite often required.




hence the reason i use G15 in the office....coz the macros helps ALOT with my work...dont know how i survived all these years without them

refer back to the software.... always good to label ur macros...

those "quickmacros" in my screenshots are one of only... use a couple of times then mebbe later the key assign to something else...

my boss has both....he wasnt sure which keyboard to buy so he bought the G15v2 and the X6...

he says for typing he prefers the X6 more....

the X6 has flat type keys as mentioned and the G15 keys u have to press deeper. depends on which one u prefer...i prefer to press deeper.. coz i type fast and people who usually type fast tend to "bang" on the keyboard when theyre typing...so deep presses are better for me.


so in the end it comes down to what u need and prefer....if ur getting it for typing then u need to determine which type u like......


but if macros are important to u...get the G15. X6 macros are damn stupid.. especially for my usage where long keystrokes are important. the software oso is horrendous.

ive posted about the stupidity of the macros in here and the microsoft thread before. go search if u wanna know more about it.





for me...between the 2.... ive only tried both for a short time...but during that short time i prefer the G15. mainly due to how i type and also the macros are SO MUCH more user friendly then the X6...they do what i wan them to do etc without hassle.

the G15v2 not enough macro keys for me man.....

depends on the keyboard wan la....

every keyboard has different limitations whether its USB Or PS/2...

then get the G15 man...its cool looking and its durable...non-laptop keys. the macros. u can use for other things like shortcuts to software or whatever...

the new G15?? cant remember.....but i think the X6 is better

roccat keyboard not even launched anywhere yet...and no news of when its gonna launch...how is he gonna consider it?

the "Coming Soon" on the website has been there for over a year..... so dont hold ur breath....

even OCuk stated ETA 1st May @ 85pounds.....they then took it out of the website coz the launch date has been delayed further...supposed Q3 2009...but even then oso i think its gonna launch later than that...

look at other options first la....when (and if) it comes out then only u think about it lor..

if its like the G15 then perfect....

if its like the X6 then abit

but if its like the reclusa's macro recodring then

also i dont like the enter and backspace key layout...prefer the long enter and backspace keys like my g15.


anyway...if i need more macros...ill probably just get tge G13

the VALO barely has any info on it out....so ill reserve judgement on it for now...

but based on keys layout alone... id rather take the G15...dont like the layout of the VALO...especially around the Enter key area. im even more particular with keyboards than i am with anything else

the media keyboard isnt a "gaming" keyboard...so thats out of the list

i personally prefer the G15. i always say...u can never go wrong with a logitech..and i still believe it.

but this depends on what u want/need in a keyboard...

if macros is wat u want....the G15 macros are MUCH more user friendly than the X6's which i think is seriously stupid.

typing feel, if u like the laptop style keys...then the X6 has that....

there are other things to consider too..

saw this in ALL IT Ikano.... actually fell in love with it coz its so cool.....

but i read a review and it was kinda .... errr.... not so good. not to say its bad....but just not so good.

wat is wrong with samsung keyboards??? theyre damn good keyboards ler..

they dont have any gaming keyboard but my experience with their normal keyboards so far has been really good...

my office even has a 10 year old samsung keyboard and its still alive and kicking... even after heavy usage after all these years its still working perfectly.

for FPS... no problem

actually my colleague uses it for some MMOs and it works fine too...
