ayo...keep on editting my post... just now toph was biting the cage...then i called his name...approached slowly..

suddenly he ran to the opposite direction very3 fast, if not because of the cage, sure he sprint 100m oredi..
then i keep on calling his name...touched the cage to see how severe he bit it..

guess was happened? he jumped once, like wan to run 4 his life...

But i found that after closing the lid it seem like the air ventilation is not that good inside the case. Somemore got lot's of those small small fly inside it also. Yup i also scare they might be able to climb out also.

anyone here tried growing their own fresh grass for hamsters?
just saw this product at Pet Safari...they give you seed and some cotton (I presume as a replacement for baja). Then after the grass grows, you can cut it off and feed your hamster.

hmm...i read somewhere...that...giving too much fresh vege/fruits can cause illness like diarrhea and wet tail disease...
what im not sure is...how much is too much?

thank u.... he is 6 weeks old. i am feeding him vitacraft mixed with some other not famous mix (in kuching dey don't sell any of the recommended brands ) i also give him the frozen vege mix everyday... is that ok? he does get dog biscuits as treats too... but i read in the older posts of this thread that should not give too much of the dog biscuits rite? so i give him few a week

We call her 'fei yau' meaning fats/lard.

Basically we adopted her thru my sis's colleague. And this colleague got it from a friend and this friend got it from another friend.

We dont even know who's the previous owner and wat kind of life she's been living . All we know is that, this poor little female hamster gave birth to several babies and the owner decided to keep the babies instead of the mother.

So we got her in. When we first got her, she has strange diet. She dont eat sunflower seeds at all. She dont even know how to open the seed. Its very sad to see her tat way . Only eats fruits and veggie. But we're afraid that too much fruits and veggie is bad for her... So we gave her lots of half opened sunflower seed, fruits and veggie. Slowly she switch her diet back to normal hamsters. Now she loves mixed nuts.

Anybody wan to adopt WW breed?
My mummy WW gave birth again to 4 WW babies, got 2 toddle now.

.....i recently notice my female hammy drink alot of water....and she pee alot (i think).....all the running wheel n ball are wet in a day or two...if she sick? or having diabetic?....i try to pump up her weight apparently kenot... she is very skinny....i feed them prestige staple and fresh food and vege....

how do i determine if she have diabetic?...sad....

i fed her green peas...
i think i gave her too much of it...
now causing her diarrhea...
her poo is green in colour...

eh... then it's probably too much and your poor ham cannot digest... Cut back on vege. If you're that worried you can give a lil cranberry juice. No sugar and preservatives yar.

How bout giv her little bit of 100Plus? Would it help if hummy got diarrhea?

@heloelaine: Means she's getting better lo. If you hold back the veges till her poo poo ok back she'll be fine. Then slow slow introduce her to veges. too much vege at 1 shot can cause diarrhea. Has she always taken vege? Otherwise you have to give her in small amounts and slowly increase to see how much she consumes and acclimate her body to taking vege.

I found Prestige (Hamster Nature), Breeder's Celect and Frisian non-clumping litter in Pet Safari, Ikano. Phew, dont hv to go all the way to Sunway to buy ( a bit far for me)

i just took her in for not long. i think the breeder didn't feed her with any vege b4 so she wasn't used to it. I will try to stop her consumption of vege for a week. Then slowly introduce her to vege.

My hammy is really a kuaci opener... >.< i just refilled her bowl of kuaci now left nothing inside...
