I bought two female hamsters from the petshop. They started fighting after 2-3 days I brought them home. Any idea why are they behaving this way? They can't be fighting for food or place as there are plenty of food and the cage is huge enough.

well, as i was informed previously by the taikos, hamsters are territorial..they should be separated actually...even if your babies can 'ngam', better prepare..just in case biggrin.gif .... right ah taikos??hihihihih.. try separate first and see how...

you can find a post here on how to introduce your hammies so that they can try to get along..the post here are quite helpful...so try to take time to browse ya...i did...in fact i read the previous version also...learning to be good mommy for stuart and mischka....

excited to go to petshack this afternoon, shopping for my babies!! biggrin.gif

lol, ann3, your stuart is what breed? sweat.gif I cannot imagine him playing with his pee. How lar to do that. Elaborate a bit? sweat.gif And pee got what to do wif carrots. Maybe I'm not seeing the connection.

Anyhow, I think his peeing in the bath sand is ok as long as you keep it clean. Or you can try the alternative of not putting the bathing sand in all the time. Only give it to him when you're changing his shavings, for about half an hour. Otherwise, just leave him with the toilet sand la. He'll resort to using back the toilet sand.
Hi Jamien, thanks for the advice..my hammies are winte whites...i have try to follow ur advise, seems it's work...just there a bit mad about the bathing sand..kinda merajuk....only comes to me when i put the sand in their cage :S ..sound sillt but i guess they try to mogok....but i haven't started on the fresh veges yet..just give them smoothies, some hay, staple food and oxbow grass..hahahaha...

mischka kinda enjoy the grass since she sleep on it and when she woke up she eat the grass...

by the way, is it true that one of the sign that a hammy is pregnant is when she started to make a nest? i found a few days that mischka has started compiling some tissue and grass on one of her fav spot...how can i check if she's pregnant?

does it will effect him in future?
