QUOTE(1024kbps @ Jan 16 2011, 11:26 PM) Rmvb can lag? probably poorly encoded lol, try other player like Mplayer or VLC see if the same things happen or not. other player no prob. MPC giving prob only. What is your OS and GPU? 1080 can be lag too if your video renderer is VRM9/EVR renderless/custom presenter as need at least mid end GPU. And, update your video driver first. WMP use EVR only thats why the 1080p so smooth. win7 and 8600gts. 8600gts quite powerful. now igp also can play 1080p smoothly |

QUOTE(1024kbps @ Jan 17 2011, 12:46 AM) Update your MPC-HC as well, and dont expect Dxva works with all HD video, dxva is very picky, if the video you are playing is not supported by Dxva it will fall back to CPU/ aka software decoding mode, which is super slow. actually all are lastest ver.just asking, why want to use MPC-HC if you know other player does not have playback problem? i dun lk too many players in my system |

QUOTE(shinjite @ Jan 24 2011, 05:10 PM) For DXVA, I recommend at least a 512MB card minimum quite low, less than 5% i think. I think it is just the settings problem.256MB can't cut it for total smooth DXVA playback About your RMVB lag, the only thing I can blame is either the decoder or the encoded video itself. What was the CPU usage when viewing the RMVB file? when playing DXVA, gpu memory usage only around 50%. so i dun thk so its gpu's prob. i only notice lagginess in rmvb when using mpc, not with wmp. strange rite?
