Hei all , are you guys playing Brothers in arms : Hells highway?

The game runs extremely poor on my 1520 ( 8600GT ) , and only able to max around 15 when i set everything to lowest ( res: 640*480 )

I try to tweak the ini files , but the game crash after that tongue.gif

The game runs around 1 - 2 fps if i set the resolution to max with other details on high.

So...Is this Dells problem? I have no problem playing mas effect , and other unreal engine 3 games.

All of those result are obtained after i OC my card to 650/550

Please advice , thanks in advance

Are you sure?

I play other games with OC also no problem , why this got problem?

Hmm...Its useless not to oc , because without oc , the games wont run smooth , after OC , FPS will have at least 30

dont think hdd not important. a faster 7200rpm hdd can run 10-20% faster than normal 5400rpm hdd. and ur vga driver not the newest and latest. try dl at nvidia official driver. they now beta for notebook driver which is 179.28 if not mistaken. i am using it now. temp also a big factor for the game playing smoothly or spike

You're using 158.2? That's a very old driver. Now the latest is 181.22 if you're using customized drivers. And if you're not willing to, then use 179.28. It can be downloaded from www.nvidia.com.

Driver does make a difference in games especially for those newer ones. If you OC too high, the game will hangs then the GPU will be downclocked. That's why you'll notice FPS drop. Some games are not stable with OC'ing.

Sorry , i mess up the number , its 185.2 , which is the latest one available now.

I guess its still beta tongue.gif

I tweak it with files that i downloaded on the laptoptogo site in roder to make it installed on my laptop.

...........Well , 179 is the latest known stable driver......

So cleaning the heat sink will improve the machine a lot?

I have a hard time playing Brothers in arms : Hells highway....

Its DAMN LAG

Thanks in advance , please advice

i tried vacuum the acer laptop by sticking the vacuum header on the bottom intake fan's vents.
not effective at all, still can see those thick dusts clogging on the fan's fins.
(although i already switched my vacuum power to the max.)

Be aware though, the statics from the high air flow friction of sucking might damage the electronic parts inside.

hmm

last time i bought my laptop is at may and only 1 year warranty..is it included 1 year international warranty as i will go australia next few weeks
*
yup, dell's warranty is of international support.
what you need to do is to complete the country/region ownership transfer for extending the warranty support to your new country destination.

can be easily done on the dell's webby,
wait for few days then you'll receive an email stating the transfer successful.

the telephone support from dell's aussie hotline will still be redirected back to dell malaysia calls service centre at penang.
