FONO
Fono is locally recognized as one of the most consistent and highly sought
progressive trance DJ in Kuala Lumpur, garnering a sizeable and still growing
fan base over the past 6 years. Bursting onto the dance scene in 2000, he
has secured a regular residency at the renowned Movement club where he has
supported huge acts such as the Gatecrasher Summer Sound System and the Groove Movie Asia Tour.

Fono, otherwise known as Jason Wong, continued to develop his reputation
over the years by playing in major parties and festivals around the Klang Valley where he has supported Europe’s big names such as Sasha, Dave Angel and Pete Tong. It was in 2003 that proved to be a breakthrough year for him as he emerged the champion of the Heineken’s Found @ Thirst competition, performing alongside Paul Oakenfold and Daniele Davoli in both KL and Tokyo immediately after.

Spotted for his impressive performances, Fono then holds a residency in KL’s biggest clubbing institute, Zouk Kuala Lumpur in 2004, where he regularly spreads an incredible blend of electronic house and tribal sounds over the club’s highly acclaimed night called PUSH. With the consistency of providing weekend anthems, he has also continuously made appearances with leading names from across the globe such as Carl Cox, Seb Fontaine, Sander Kleinenberg, Danny Howells and Timo Maas.

Being uniquely versatile in the different genres of dance music, Fono now infuses the Zouk main room every Friday night with an euphoric outburst of progressive trance, techno and electro. Armed together with vast experience of playing across Asia, the 2006 Berlin Loveparade, as well as alongside reknown trance heavyweights such as Ferry Corsten, Marco V, Armin Van Buuren, Christopher Lawrence, Markus Schulz, Above & Beyond, Judge Jules, Eddie Halliwell and Paul Van Dyk, it has already demonstrated that he is the most exciting talent to watch out for in 2007. With his recent popularity in clubland, he is applauded consecutively for the “Best Local Club DJ of 2005 and 2006” by the JUICE magazine’s Best Of Awards.
