cable got nothing to do with image quality. all HDMI cables under 5 meter gives out the same output.

what game are you playing anyway?

edit: i just checked.

The 24-inch widescreen S2409W checks in with a 1,920 x 1,080 panel, 300 cd/m2 brightness, 5-millisecond response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, VGA / DVI / HDMI sockets, and 160- / 170-degree viewing angles.

that is your culprit. 1000 to 1 is so poor when most LCD out there are dispensing over 3000 to 1 nowadays.

check out the comments below the post. most of them are negative and explaining why this monitor is crappy.

contrast ratio affects the "line" of the image. more dense contrast will produce sharper image as there's more pixel per 1 square inch. 1000:1 is just too bad.

just like normal images created by digicam. more megapixels define the clarity of the image and the level of detail they can contain.

once again, there's nothing wrong with cheap HDMI cables as long as you dun exceed 5 meters. anything less than that, the picture quality will be the same regardless how expensive the cable that you use.

edit : again, if you suspect the games being the culprit, kindly state what game are you playing and giving you the problem.

a quick check on my GTA4 box for 360 says "HDTV 720p/1080i/1080p". that's the latest game that i got.

Sorry if this sounds stupid, what options from the menu do you have when setting up the monitor? I might be able to give you my little opinion if you can list them out. I used to play on a 32 inch 2000:1 contrast LCD TV, couldn't take it, got a 50 inch 5000:1 LCD TV, still not happy with it and sold them for a 24 inch 50000:1 LCD monitor.

technophile is spot on about the cable, so don't worry too much about it.
