I believe sheffield is a nice palce for first timers. it has various Asian origins so you can find foods and curry stuff out there easily.

room prices? depends on whether they are furnished or unfurnished, flat or shared house, in-town or out-town. anyway, shd be able to share with other students for much lower than 100pd pw.

be more enterprising, you shall be ok.

for part time jobs, wages also depend on the nature of jobs, such as in chinese restaurants and take away, mat salleh hotels, factories etc. factory is the best i think, pays well but harder life le.
