Hi i am a new iphone 2g user here
recently i had purchase an unlock version of iphone 2g which come with firmware 2.1. however i cant find the application call cydia in the phone. I only have app store which from apple. So i just wondering how can i add the cydia application in my phone? i had read from article and it appear the cydia should come with an jailbreak iphone, however it is weird that my iphone 2g do not have the software.

hence, can anyone suggest me what i can do so that my iphone 2g can use cydia? should i jailbreak it myself using the tutorials provided from the link? it is an iphone 2g 16gb version which come with firmware 2.1

however can i know how can i unhide the icon ? i try google it it end up recommand me use sbsetting which also need me have cydia first - -

my iphone don have cydia and installer which is really weird

oh ok than i had read the instruction a few times. well if something happen during the process, is it possible to unbrick the iphone? or the iphone become an ipod touch if it fail = =

Added on June 15, 2009, 7:47 ami try flashing my iphone yesterday and it end up i successly update the firmware to 2.2.1 with the iphone still unlock. however, i still don have any luck to see cydia in the home screen - -

i using pwnage 2.2.5 with mac osx 10.5.7 and itune 8.02 but when i flashing it and try to recover using custom firmware creat by pwnage it keep on crashing. i end up restore using itune - - i try to use quickpawn and it always automatic detect my iphone 2g as iphone 3g - -

any advice? thanks a lot
