That said, I do have to say in defense of the newbies, it was confusing to figure out WHICH to use (Pwnage Tool, Quickpwn, etc.) but with a little googling (MacRumours Forums) and some consultation with Nokia2003, and I got d answer.

Beyond that the iClarified tutorial is amazingly simple to follow (TQ again for d link davidgary). As long as you read it to completion beforehand so u dun get a nasty surprise (press what? release wat? how long?? *panic!*). Brings me back to school days. "Read n understand question before u answer!"

Btw, correction: Had the phone for TWO weeks. Okok, enuff before my ego gets too big for my own good.

Hey I just did an upgrade to 2.2 form a 2.1 iPhone 2G. Works fine, however Cydia refuses to load (from my understanding it should at least work). It will open up then ask if you are user/hacker/etc. but after i select anything it will crash and return to home screen.

I used pwange tool from iClarified and did it on an old Macbook (worked fine for FW2.1). And did a second restore. same issue. Anyone having the same problems and anyway I might be able to get Cydia at least partially working?

Can I use Quickpwn to re-jailbreak?

Added on November 27, 2008, 10:23 pmDisaster averted! Apparently in my infinite wisdom i used PT 2.2 instead of 2.2.1. Caused me an evening of hair pulling. Serves me right for not reading further.

Restored using Pwnage Tool 2.2.1. Managed to get it working.

Shout out to Nokia 2003 and DavidGary73 for their willingness to spend time helping me out. Thanks guys!!!
