There is no unlock tools yet for 3G iPhone.
Correct me if mistake..

i thought for the 3g iphone you should only use pwnage, this is to preserve the 2.1 baseband. If you don't, you might not be able to unlock it later when it becomes available.

No choice ar. Have to restore. Doing it now.

I'm going to get some food, some coffee and, some cancer sticks and watch a movie while my baby gets born again....for the 2nd time in the same day. hehe... I think I'm calling it a night here...cheers..

GOLDEN RULE: If you have a 3G iPhone and want potential soft unlock in the near future do NOT use QuickPwn, and do not use the official ipsw or the iTunes update process without using PwnageTool.
Please read all parts of this post before downloading and using these tools.
The ‘late 2008’ MacBook/air/pro line of computers have an issue with DFU mode. While it’s possible to go from Pwned 2.1 -> Pwned 2.2 (using PwnageTool), you can’t yet go from stock to pwned. If in any doubt use a different machine.

Use another older model mac to do as suggested by DevTeam.

i use the custom firmware from modmyi and then use quikpwn 2.2 then settle can use the iphone 3g with 2.2 and can use normal line and its not locked

No..If not mistaken the dev team do release a custom 2.2 firmware upgrade that exclude out the 2.2 baseband update. Means,u still can JB 2.2 witout update d baseband n still enjoying the 2.2 features.You will be happy to unlock  2.2 during eve 2008

Well, here' the deal.

Jailbreak phone gets to;

1) Add lot's of themes to phone from lockscreen to homescreen. See winterboard thread. Super cun.
2) Disable Edge connection and other connections in the phone.
3) Lot's of 3rd party apps to use and mostly free and good. Example..
a) BiteSMS to forward sms and contacts which is not available without Jailbreaking...yahoo.
b) OfflineMaps.
c) Video recorder like Cycorder.
d) Snapture, one of the best camera apps. better than default iphone camera app.
e) PDAnet to share 3G connection with laptop.
and more...............

might be ur turbosim too old.. cant detect latest fw2.2.. u might need to get the lastest TURBOSIM

Just an update guys. I am back in Malaysia and my i-smartphone adapter works really well with my new Hotlink sim in my iPhone 3G. Took really fast to search for service. Also, I did the above (link) and I could sync with itunes easily.

oo okay nice...just 1 more question..if i restore my iphone through itunes,the jailbreak process will be gone rite?incase i need to send in for warranty,will apple find any trace about it?
