I'm using vista basic 32 bit on my compaq laptop and am happy with it. I haven't tried vista premium, so not sure how much better is it compared to vista basic.

Vista Home Premium 32bit, pretty good & reliable. Anyway I'm not so concerned about the 4 gig ram thingy, does not bother me.

1 - They are different
2 - No, you CHOOSE which version you want to install
3 - System Properties

64bit Ultimate for me for the last 12 months.
6GB o' RAM and an old 512 GTS 8800 graphics card, served me well, especially on COD4! rclxms.gif

My main PC has got 3 OSes: Vista Ultimate SP1 32-Bit (OEM), XP Pro SP3 32-Bit (OEM) and Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04.
I'm also using Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.4 on my Apple MacBook.
