Candlestick Charting Explained - Gregory L. Morris

that's a good book, can google it up biggrin.gif ...but must remember hor, cannot confuse candlesticks of stocks with forex...forex candlesticks shouldnt have gaps other than weekly chart, cause it's 24/5

Added on October 2, 2008, 10:08 pmwah lao...you all earn so many pips...

hm...like what shown in the chart i posted, it's now at the 61.8 level, as it might most probably hang on to this level for a while (some choppy move). what i meant was, it'll be rather difficult to reach 74.6 at about 1.33xx, as ECB will take steps or make some announcements. It may further challenge 61.8, but i'd say most likely it'll go 1/3 towards 74.6 before bouncing off.

added a 74.6 fanline to the chart

Added on October 2, 2008, 11:39 pmadd on a 5M chart for better view...

Added on October 2, 2008, 11:43 pm

hm..IMO, if the chart shows gaps, it means the server is either slow to the reaction, or the opening of a new candlestick is slow. This would be apparent when we look at mt4 charts, and to charts like fxcm's.
*
for example....fast market....ngam ngam news out 2m ppl long on 50ms just after the candlestick end....shootup 20 pips.....then when next candle appear......open is 20pips above...u got a gap there....

slow/extreme low liquidity market also same......

i've seen the fast big gap before....while with more than 4 diff broker platform open

i prefer more on a healthy move, with corrections along the way. Seems like Japan never did recover since late 1990s...
*
this UJ down move is further worsen japan even more.........bad economy + rising yen value = decrease in export, increase in import

Good article  thumbup.gif  I nvr read it b4. It stated very details which pair correlated with which item, and also the reason. Its worth to have a read guys.

Strongly recommended from me, juz spend 2 min and read it out, and do some small notes.

Added on October 8, 2008, 5:35 pmJackpot hitto.

Finally get my first trade after today whole day of waiting, Pocket in 70pips. Trade closed within 25sec. Faz and furious.

EJ closed for 25pips, Closed within 10sec. LOL

EdIT:
I guess there sure be some one who trade with this way, usually during 24hours of trading, we mostly have one time of big up or big down. Mean trendy movement. So is it anyone that usually only trade that time. As the saying,"DO not again trend", which mean you put your chart clean, whenever you saw a such big movement, for sure you know there is continuous movement some more, so you juz pijak in, and take 30pips then run.

Anyone here? Wanna share some experience? Or why this method is dangerous? Or anyone get burnt due to this before? Plz share up, me learning here.

becarefull later the broker play tricks with u.......they dun like people scalp....or open n close the possition too fast...10s is way too fast

I have both oanda + mt4. So now I really getting the experience from both.

Juz now in EJ downward movement, the price is keep jumping between 2-3 pips in mt4, Keep on getting requote requote and requote, when I'm into the market, I already late for 11pips from my expected entry jor.

In oanda, the spread goes higher, but for sure you wont get requote this word, but remember, the spread is HIGH.

Thanks for you guys advice, remember it by heart already
*
spread high is also another term of requote...or slippage....any of these 3 means sway very far away from the price u wanted

Added on October 8, 2008, 8:02 pm
QUOTE(kelvin_tan @ Oct 8 2008, 06:34 PM)
i also dunno wth is wrong with oanda.. their spread used to be so tight... now due to all this things happening the spread got a lot higher.. but anyway where did u enter in EJ?
*
thats because u not yet know how market pricing works.....

couple month ago UJ use to move around 30-7x pips up and down and GJ is around 100-200 pips up and down......now UJ move around 100-250+ and GJ around 300-500 pips

I suggest u guys not to trade this market. This market is MAD market. I already taken like 2 weeks of Holiday and will continue to take holiday to enjoy my free relax time. There is no way I gonna trade this mad market.  rclxub.gif Up down Up down...Anytime get stop out continuous time.
*
lol...agree with you

actually this is a very nice market to trade as long as it doesnt go up and down big pip like 100-200 pips within 1 hour candle bar its still ok....seems most of ppl here is TA trader not FA trader....so this up n down move doesnt affect them much

also a nice time to train your skill( hard to find market as mad as right now.....since it comes once every 10y)........if u can survive in mad market u prob have higher chances of survivng the market even during it stabilize

Same here, got some losses, after I settle out this few trades, then I'm done for the day, gonna read read read first. Goes back to my chart pattern.

Kevler, always love your EW. Make it your proffesion.

Added on October 9, 2008, 1:47 pmAnd one more thing to share out :-

NVR TRY TO RECOVER YOUR LOSSES

Why? Bcoz at the time you think you wanna recover your losses, you'll making tons of tons of wrong trades which lead you to further worse situation.

How to overcome:
1) Do other thing so that you wont concentrate on your losses, such as gaming, read newspaper, radio, sing and so on.
Calm your mood down first, then only think where to trade again.
My GJ -135ve pips was bcoz of my intention to recover my first loss -40pips. That's y I lose more.
SO juz now, I go for gaming around 2 hours and calm down and trade again

2) Train yourself to treat losses as a part of your life.
Still learning.

It's vital for traders, in my own judgement la, dunno you guys.
*
its easier to say than done.............
some say dun scalp....its not good in long term...but there still people who success in scalping....

nothing is absolute
