Small Jeff,

BIG RED ALERT.......

T BILLS SOLD at the rate of 0.00%
*
yeah...read the news too

hm...weakness of USD is starting to show as Treasuries will soon not be a safe haven. Hopefully the weakness is not just a short term booster pill cause of Obama and auto bailout.

However, with T-Bill falling to 0.00%, that would initially bring mid term treasuries yield down first, i.e. the 10 year note, before the bubble burst can actually happen. However, 10 year yield may go as low as 2.6% before 2Q2009. Oil still holding strong at $43 amid OPEC cutting output and IEA cutting forecast.

German bund and Gilt isnt showing much signs of decline yet (German bund already showing some good signs), but probably would when worse kicks in.

hm..new bill and note up for sale today and tomorrow. Current bid-to-offer ratio has increased. Wonder would this be enough to pump USD higher against others on opening bell? I think end of this month can timely tell whether and/or when USD will make its bearish reversal. Correction waves in EU should be over pretty soon. Time to break the wedge.

Adam, what do you think?

yeah...i believe we've yet to see the bottom of DOW yet. Another reason to drive money back to Treasuries today: Fannie Mae... They should just stick to mortgage and insurance... biggrin.gif tongue.gif Retails on Friday should tell whether we can make a new low

EU holds at around 1.3262 resistant. This rally seems more of a speculation move in the forex market, based on treasuries's bubble and further rate cut.

guess we have to go back to the old scenario...oil to $32, treasuries to burst, DOW to break 8000 for good.

hm...DOW didnt collapse cause soon after the opening bell, it was announced that they will get the money from Treasuries...

IMO, another thing to hold USD where it was is that German bund and GILT are rising slightly greater than the Treasuries...where money has left the equity. Euro and Pound may just turn out to be what happened to USD.

This week may mark the start of the bullish reversal...both the USD and it Treasuries have shown weaknesses..

i've checked on the DJ Stoxx, FTSE, DAX, DJIA and S&P...Technically, i dont see that money is going back to the equity market any soon. My reason for the reversal is based on that yields on US Treasuries will rise, while European government bonds will decline sharply. There is where the money is going, IMO. Although bonds were reported to be higher end of this week, but i think it would only be short-lived. Even if the automakers are saved by Treasuries, the economy outlook still remains weak...and weakening..

Hm..dont think commodities will be rising anytime soon. Hedge funds are still losing money, that will keep fund managers away for a while...I still believe there would be an increasing pressure of deflation, rather than inflation for at least another quarter or so.

MY forecast, mark this post.

Dow to rally to 9,500-10,000 before end of this month. Who wanna bet teh ais with me?
*
adoi...not to bet lar..but to discuss on how's the market is doing...maybe you could clarify on why you think there will be a rally in equity? to most i could see Dow go is about 9050/9140...that is provided that some good plan came out for the automakers...

ya..i notice they're trying hard to push the mortgage rate down too, while import price has declined quite dramatically.. just that my date for market reversal is later than yours......i would expect oil would go down to around $32 before we see any changes..there should be more housing foreclosure to come first

Added on December 14, 2008, 6:58 pmhaha..yeah..if long term..now is the best time...buy huge chunks of equities and chew on its dividends... tongue.gif but...not enough money for that sad.gif

hmm..i've been looking at oil...though it bounced off at 50 (9.02%), but it surely seems to be challenging new highs, probably to 56...this would be quite an important level to break. Probably would depends on OPEC's decision. hmm...kinda doubt it'll reach 56 next week...the thing that moves funny now is...Gold..

TIC way below estimate. Now only 10yr and 30yr Treasuries rising..

Added on December 16, 2008, 12:35 amhmm...around time for EU to come down?

It is quite close to xmas, but I'm wondering is if January effect will kick in all that much considering Obama coming in on the 20th with the trillion dollar reprieve. How much of a difference would that make to the falling dollar?

for in long position for EU, be careful with your SL. Dow reaching initial resistant at around 9050 with EU resistant at 1.44xx.
