That’s all according to the boys over at CinemaBlend, who got their hands on  the latest draft of the movie by writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (of “Zombieland” fame). So what’s the verdict? “Deadpool” is so good, it has the potential to be the R-rated superhero movie version of “The Dark Knight”. That’s your friggin verdict right there, pal.

What I’m getting at here is that this is a killer script and more than that, it’s a well-thought out story, which fills in every plot hole and solves every problem that could have been encountered with the character. I can’t imagine anyone doing this any better, and it’s a movie which deserves to be made the right way by the right people.

As good a script as Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have written, it’ll still be up to Ryan Reynolds to keep this thing good. If Reynolds, for whatever reason, decides to walk away from the movie (you know, reasons like the gazillion other movies and franchises he’s probably being offered right now), then I can’t see a “Deadpool” movie getting made, much less staying faithful to this script and the character we’ve come to know and love from the comics.

My favorite part about the script? Its approach to Deadpool’s ridiculously bullshit appearance in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine”, which goes something like this:



How much do I want to see that in a movie? Very much, folks. Oh so very much.

Robert Rodriguez Out and Adam Berg in as Deadpool Director?



The latest news on the movie based on the merc with a mouth has Robert Rodriguez, the fanboy choice for director, once again leaving the project and a new candidate emerging to take his place. His name? Adam Berg.

“Adam Berg? Who the hell is Adam Berg?”

Apparently both the producers of “Deadpool” and the man who would play Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds digs Berg’s work on “Carousel”, which was enough to make him the frontrunner to land the gig.
