I'm on 2.0.2 firmware. I'm having problem to install WeDict (free version from app store).
I got this error.
need some advice how to fix this. TQ

Eh... i got the same problem with Wedict too...

i dont know where to install wedict. i dont see cydia got wedict.. helps

I just sync again when i have this error..

I never encounter such problem before, but I was not able to open wedict after installing additional dicts from cydia.

Solution: I copy the .app file under those lengthy folder and put it under /application at :root. Then I delete the original folder plus the folder with lengthy name.

About username n password, I believe u r referring to iTunes Account. Search a little bit on past threads on how to open Malaysian / US iTunes aCcount and where to buy the itunes gift card for US iTunes

I have a doubt. Once I install applications from AppStore and back up my iphone (using iTunes), will I be able to restore all the applications using iTunes? I read someplace that applications installed using Cydia will vanish on restoration (if other applications are installed using AppStore). Please clear this.

As far as my knowledge is concerned, yes, apps from Cydia will eventually lost. But you always may backup using software in Cydia too (not know how it is working) or just get into ur iphone disk on ur computer and copy it. On how to do the second option, you may search a bit the softwares in thread started by davidgary.

I believe that most users here want to make things easy for anyone, especially new iPhone users. However time factor limits us to repeat certain facts again and again. That is why we will suggest u to search a little bit more. It is also exhausting if u keep answering the same questions more than 10 times. At one point, it just sucked ur interest towards the forum anymore.

I believe dat most of so called sifus learnt their wisdom the hard way, n to ask them to repeat again n again, is just to waste the resource that they already provided.

I am also experiencing something related to your problem. The only difference is I was able to use it for few days and then suddenly today "The application WeDict cannot be opened. " I installed it from AppStore. Now I can't find it in /Applications folder (using WinScp). How do I find and uninstall it? Do I need a fix? Please suggest. Thanks!

did ya add any outer source to the wedict, any dictionary option via cydia?

i got the same when i d/load thesaurus ee from cydia. it freeze after i finish installed the additional datas
gotta figure what the probs, now i use the wedict pro, but not yet try installed the 3rd party option from cydia

Yes, Webster dictionary. How do I uninstall WeDict? I don't see it in Cydia packages & AppStore doesn't show any option to uninstall/modify.

to uninstall, simply tap more than 1 second on the app, the 'x' symbol will appear at the edge of wedict icon.

the problem is confirmed to have something to do with the additional dicts that u add from cydia or any sources. this is the problem plaguing the wedict.

even after u reinstall, the same problem will occur if u add other dicts.

one solution is to just use the dicts provided. other solution which abled you to use more dicts need some modification in the iphone folders. i forgot the method already n will post back later if u cannot find it anywhere in this forum or on the net

Thanks. I thought clicking on "X" will only delete the icon and won't uninstall the dictionary. I will double check on this first. Anyways, I managed to uninstall it by deleting a folder "212345......" in Applications>AppStore folder using SSH. Every application installed using iTunes has a separate folder in AppStore folder. All I did was that I checked every one of them and deleted the complete folder.

Here's another way I found but I haven't tried it yet.

-Download the free app from app store
-SSH your custom dictionaries to: /User/Applications/[bunch_of_crap]/WeDict.app/ (WeDict is working at this point)
-Reboot your iphone (WeDict will Stop working at his point)
-SSH again to your iphone and MOVE the whole WeDict.app folder to /Applications (or /var/stash/Applications.[bunch_of_crap]/
-Reboot
