Thanks cracksys but the link is dead.

ma bad sweat.gif

anyway, you could try Vista driver and then force install by pointing driver setup to C:\swsetup\sp38688 folder

or you could try launch button driver for older model .. someone reported it as a not-phailed

i m graphic designer, i would like to do some painting and sketch with photoshop cs2 and painter IX but i prefer xp more then vista ...
would cq40 125ax ok for me?
*

if you're willing to spend a little time and sweat on installing XP, this lappie should be a good choice (among this price bracket) .. just don't come in here later and whine like a real n00b about CQ40 + XP

there's no incompatibility issues between newer PS and a lot of other program, i don't see why you wanted to avoid Vista.

i, myself enabled all eye-candy (spell : aero) and did not suffer from any lag what-so-ever while moderate multitasking.

(among this price bracket) mean what like 2000++
i found this model without freeDOS around RM 1899 at digital mall with  free upgrade to 3gb last year .....i wonder what the price in low yat??
and how much ram u need to install in order for it to run properly ....i m a techie guy i have no worry, i been followin this thread for a while i found is really hard to install the xp rite?
*

if you're a techie yourself, it wouldn't take too much effort to install XP. just slipstreaming and collecting a couple of scattered driver.

i've upgraded to 2GB and happy with it. i even allocated 500MB for ramdisk.

^ read a couple of earlier post. same question asked.

IMO about CS3, photoshop wouldn't be a problem (i've tested trial version of it myself) tho i'm not sure about after effect hunger for better processor.

Is this still valid? The only thing that is holding me back from getting the CQ40-133AX is the AMD processor...
How do you guys find the AMD processor? May buy this if I am convinced with AMD... sweat.gif
*

i can't see why people still hover around this small branding issue. by the word convince, did you currently believe AMD have the tendency to burst in flame?

QUOTE(ikan_semilang @ Jan 7 2009, 11:17 PM)
Since it's got problem with XP, so no choice i'm trying with Vista..but doubt if got lagging when using Photoshop with 4GB ram...
*

invest in 2x2 GB and allocate 1GB for Photoshop cache/idontrememberthecorrectterm using Ramdisk. a win me say.

Hey, chill dude sweat.gif

I just had some bad experiences with AMD in the past that's why I am a little biased now.
But I think I won't really mind the AMD this time though...
Anyway, how's the battery life of the CQ40?
Any battery upgrades available?
*

1 and a half hours. reduce it more if you took models with dedicated GPU.

default battery is 6 cells. 12 cell should be available somewhere.

my 4GB ram is wasted now....only detect 2.8GB....

using 126AU now
*

i'm using Gavotte RAMDisk 1.0.4096.5 .. really sorry, you need to google for this. the fella who designed this doesn't even have proper website so i can't recall.

QUOTE(Zibel @ Jan 10 2009, 12:11 AM)
Hey, thanks. 800 o3Marks might be for a 9200M GS with GDDR3 but unfortunately HP decided to use the (cheaper?) GDDR2 sad.gif

Stock 9200M GS with 256MB GDDR2 runs about 616 o3Marks, 800 o3Marks with OC and I guess a 9200M GS with GDDR3 OC'd would hit 1000 o3Marks. So a pretty good score for the HD 3450 wink.gif

Can someone please direct me to where i can download all the win XP drivers for CQ40-133AX.

I'm thinking of upgrading to 2 x 2Gb ram. Can this model support 800Mhz instead of 667Mhz?
*

do bother reading first post. it's annoying to have someone crying for the same question over and over, and over.

Well synthetic benchmarks doesnt really matters. Both are low end GPUs so not much difference between them. nvidia supports CUDA though.
*

CUDA aren't that efficient as it's proclaimed to be .. the fact that OpenGL favors Nvidia since the dawn of time, this is p4wning. and don't say it doesn't matter because someone asked me to do the FurMark. not a personal initiation

QUOTE(shady @ Jan 10 2009, 10:25 AM)
there is lots of way to get shareware version out there. i guess you should know it. If you really want to utilized all 4GB, I suggest u to get 64bit Windows.
*

why would you want to suggest someone to get something illegally just because someone else (me) come out with better and free idea than yours?
