Dear World of Warcraft Players

i-City MSC One Stop Centre is currently creating awareness among the gaming community to experience Super Broadband in i-City.

As you know, Broadband quality is a problem for 95% of all WOW players in Klang Valley.

i-City MSC Cybercentre will feature an Orange Cafe with the following:
1. Wireless-G 10 Mbps Super Broadband Clear Channel via Fibre Optics
2. Automatic Backup broadband with TM & Maxis with 99.9% Uptime

The Orange Cafe will be ready by Mid October.

You can drop by have a drink to test out the speed yourself.

i-City MSC also wants to hold a WOW competition. Not too sure if that's possible. i-City MSC is prepared to coordinate and provide prizes for the WOW competition.

Suggestions and Ideas are welcome. Please reply to this topic if you have feedback.

Yes, the wireless internet will be Wireless G with 10Mbps Super Broadband with Auto Backup Broadband.

So only Laptops for WOW players here. Ample power plugs.

But you can't play WOW reliably unless you have Super Broadband, which we will have in Orange Cafe.

Auto Backup Broadband means if say for example TM fails, there is an automatic switchover to Maxis, which makes your playing experience seamless regardless what happens to either Telco.

yes...all of use are using/hv laptop to play wow
eventho the internet are really good for wow...
i would just think that the wireless thingy just make it wont be able to attract alot of ppl since most of us are using desktop to play wow

mm pardon me? WoW competition? @.@ and how do we compete with us users from wide range of server? lulz I think they must be saying Dota competition, and the server is very good for dota games haha

Using Lappy with wifi. Playing WoW with it for nearly 2 years. It's fine. Raided until Sunwell.

Only thing not wireless for me is the mouse.

Playing WOW in Orange Cafe obviously is for players who have been playing WOW on laptops.

The benefit of playing in Orange Cafe is, can you boast your latency at home is better than i-City MSC?

Added on September 7, 2008, 9:49 amWe didn't think it's possible to have a 'WOW' competition since there is no actual measurement for competition in the game unlike DoTa. But we thought perhaps hard core WOW players would have some idea to do this.

Some innovative ideas I've gotten include:

1. Perhaps like who can kill the most PvPs in 1 hour while playing in Orange (individually or as a team).
2. Who can finish the same boss playing simulatenously in different teams

Kill the most in PvPs as a team is pointless (not to said BG's) if u mean skirmish arena where the opposite opponent may not be que-ing up as a team and randomly selected..
And if you mean by rated team, it's pointless too unless you have 2-5 real life friends and must be in the same server and must be in the same arena team and again must be together in KL participating (for me, my team consist of member from country like US, Hong Kong and Indonesia, I don't think I will call the US guy up and hey it's Arena time while I sit alone at the cafe and talking to my mic and hey you guys just lose/win prizes here in Malaysia bla bla bla )



So here again I sit alone in the cafe (unless you have 5 real life friends and must be in the same server and again must be in Malaysia together up for instances) and hey again you guys just lose/win prizes here in Malaysia bla bla bla )

Even if you do have 5 friends playing WoW in the same server, still it doesn't mean 5 of them also have lappy to bring them to that cafe and get in the competition..

The main problem is not everyone that goes to your cafe is playing in the same server (WoW have like over 100 server), unless you fork out $US15 transfer server just for the sake of this competition lol..

So obviously, the players have to be in the same server to make the competition somewhat work (that is if it can work).

So does this mean there is absolutely no way a casual gaming competition in WOW would work.

Even if there is no practical competition for WOW, come for the Super Broadband. =)

wireless, laptop, and WoW competition

wow, cant get anymore fail than this really.

with only wireless LAN available, u r limitin urself to only those users with lappy n r always playin WoW on the lappy.

10M broadband, but ur international pipe is how big and how congested is the submarine cable tat you are on?
ultimately, it's the international pipe which will limit ur speed.

also,ur claim of auto-backup,....how does it work?
cos all telcos hv their own set of public IP which are regulated.
even if u r running NAT, wouldn't there b some sort of downtime cos there is a change in the dns ip..................

Unless you have an international pipe going to your current connection at home or office, our Super Broadband will definitely outperform your connection.

Unless you have steady uninterrupted connection at home or office, our Auto-Backup will auto-switch you from one telco to the other in seconds, which definitely outperforms your connection

Errr, your auto-backup is just for availability of internet connection and nothing to do with quality of the connection?

shah alam conn not that congested coz that's my hometown n im playing wow with ~300ms there
n it's not a CC...just a cafe with a wifi in there

So, pay for petrol, pay for parking, pay for wifi time...

Sounds more expensive than play at home...
