Hello my fellow wow players.
I know your pain with TM and their lousy high latency for WoW.
I know of hours spent IP hunting just so you can reasonably play WoW.
Believe it or not the solution is with Infolient Broadband!
I'm currently playing WoW using their service and although I cant get a latency below 200ms, I at least get below the 600 mark (yellow bar).
Best of all, no need to IP hunt! Infolients IP range are all on the same range.
Further more, I have reliable info that they will be upgrading their offshore services so the speed will get even better over the next few months.
If you've already read bout this ISP in the papers then you know that they are a new service so they don't have that many customers yet so the bandwidth is not congested just yet.
Oh btw, torrent speed is GODLY on this service. I recorded 169kbps last night. Hehe. Streaming speed not so good though. Expect the speed to get better as they continue to expand.

you can also try Jaring Flite Wired. i dont play WoW, but when i play Guildwars on american servers, i get stable below 400ms ping, sometime i get below 250ms ping.

i guess for WoW it should be around the same number.

So ravager77, how much extra are you paying for your extra speed? I remembered when JARING started, there were additional data usage fees that Telekom charge.

2 posts since August 2006. LowYat.Net is now into subtle viral marketing ah?

Except that he has 36 posts and not just 2.

Line rental means your RM29 per month phone line rental that you've been paying all this while.

If you're frustrated with your broadband, can I extend an invitation to use our Super Broadband in i-City?

Hehe. No additional data charges and I'm not marketing for Infolient. I'm just a normal wow player looking for a good internet fix that doesnt cost me an arm and a leg. I play on the Silver Hand US server and my main is a BM hunter Skullwolf.

It depends on a lot of factors but the biggest factor is the total bandwidth being used. Imagine this : -

1 million subscribers in KL using the same 100MB bandwith
100 subscribers in KL using the same 100MB bandwith

It simply means more bandwidth per person. As long as the number of customers don't explode and Infolient keeps adding servers, we'll all enjoy more bandwidth for torrent + gaming.

And its not weird really to have laggy WoW and brilliant Torrent speed. It depends which side of the cloud you are on. Because torrents can come from local sources, torrent speeds from local sources move faster. Overseas connections are dependent on overseas networking and routing so they are affected by distance, shaping and all sorts of controls. Result = slower overseas connections.

Hi ravager,

Have u done the wow registry hack yet? If u can get consistent 600 ms ping then with the hack u should be able to get around 400 ms ping.
Can u use Ping Plotter to do a trace to us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com and see if there's any packet loss?
Much appreciate if u can do that and report back here.
Thanks.

I'm getting 300-500ms just with the registry hack, I don't need any lower latency since I don't arena, and being a Hunter, Arena is almost impossible anyway lol.

You using Infolient too?
300-500 consider quite good for me. Last few months i've been playing with 500-700 even with the reg hack plus i have consistent packet lost cry.gif

ravager where are you man? I am seriously considering changing to infolient.
Appreciate if u can provide some ping details here.
Btw, u r on home or game package?

Been busy with work so haven't been able to reply on Lowyat. Anyway did the registry hack + tunneling and the latency is currently at 200-300. Not bad i must say. Do you guys want a ping test to us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com or something else? I need more info before i post useless junk that you dont want or need.

Best if u can use PingPlotter to ping us.logon.worldofwarcraft.com and post the result/screenshots here.
It shows packet loss percentage on each hop.

Also may i know which package u are on? Home or gaming?
Thanks!

Ok. Here's the PingPlotter Screenshot.
Notice that the bar is YELLOW and not RED. rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif
And I'm guessing this doesnt take into consideration my tunneler since the ping plotter doesn't tunnel.

And I'm using normal home broadband. From what I've heard the Gaming Broadband only functions to increase gaming speed if you play stuff that MOL serves like World of Kungfu.

Very good ping result! Thanks a lot man!

For those who wanna compare, this is what i get with tmnutz nutz nutz x 1 million:
Notice the PL% packet loss column can go up to 60% where mcmc stated cannot more than 2% yawn.gif
