Gainward Germany have confimed that the first shipment of HD4850 GS was not ok: some cards with defects as siad by Netraid.
However I do not have anymore precisions regarding the chip that would lead to the black screens that some of us experienced unfortunately.

Good news: New card to come soon.
Then , I will complete mass effect ( I was closed to the end when my poor 1950 pro (non gainward...) crashed, play again Stalker shadow of tchernobyl before playing the new one...

I'm sure The second Gainward HD4850 GS is going to make miracles!!! In the good way I hope...

New batch of 4850GS && 4870GS arrived this morning.. I mean Monday Morning~

hohoho.. i can see u use the cooler master 90CFM 19DBA 12cm fans. 5-6 of them (can't tell if u change the front intake fan also). it was said that the fan only produces 69CFM, but that's quite a lot oso i only using CM red led fan with 42CFM and one Xigmatek XLF with 60CFM. 
cooler master hyper TX2 oso. and that drive bay got that CM meter thinggy... (what is that for arh?)

Maybe can ask Netraid what's the 4850 consumption when loaded then can roughly estimate? Those 450W real power with the front panel one.. friend says it shows about 300W when running furmark which stresses the GPU to 99% or so.

Found this, E8400, Asus P5E3 Deluxe and Radeon 4850 plus the other standard stuffs is about 269 watt on load. Not sure about 4850 since it is overclocked. Maybe Netraid can provide info here?
