Anlene mango yogurt tastes very nice and my gliders go gaga over it. But the downside is the package comes in four packs and the other 2 flavors not as nice as the mango.

After dragonfruit and watermelon the poo sure soft and stains clothes easily. As long as it still has shape should still be ok.
I sound scary? Actually it's true that maybe I just woke up, I'm like my gliders, Zzzzz a lot. NZX got TV, got sofa, got ps2, can bring dog, can eat with dog, more spacious.... The list goes on..... This post has been edited by Reanne: Sep 8 2008, 01:23 AM |

Let's say, Toby Pet's underaged joeys = Brand X
When you go to a supermarket to buy things, the supermarket carries brand X for example. A supermarket doesn't only carry brand X, but carries brand A, B, C, K, L and J. But brand X is actually bad and has many problems. You know it, so you advise ppl to not buy brand X. So ppl don't buy it but will buy the rest of the brands. This makes the stock for brand X move very slow even though ppl that don't know may still buy. In the end, the supermarket may stop stocking on brand X altogether, which hopefully may happen. Buying pouches from Toby doesn't mean the buyer will definitely buy a glider from Toby. But we on the forum cannot possibly reach out to everyone in the world to not buying joeys from them, so instead of packing the poor joeys in a box, they can go home in a comfy pouch. Who knows? They may even google about the pouches and it may lead them to the forum, where they can learn more about the care of gliders. Don't you think so? |

Awhh... She does look chubbier. Miko is actually doing better without Dakota, she's gaining weight and is asking more for attention.
That's how she used to sleep in my palm, but when she was smaller she looked like a sushi roll. Now bigger, like those cake rolls. |

Why not just get from the original ppl for the Slurp and pouches? The pouches can be mailed so no need to waste petrol. If it's so troublesome to get to particular places or you don't wanna support unethical petshops, just get from those who care and COD or get them mailed to you.
As for the hams in Fluff, those tanks are temporary, more tanks will be coming soon for them so it's not so crowded. They're housed on Back2Nature bedding, fed Harry Hamster mixture, orchard grass, fresh veggies and fruits every other day, have thick cardboard rolls to chew, toilet trained since there's a bowl full of litter sand. As for the dogs, they're not kept in cages but in a playpen, they romp around and I do admit they may step on the pee or poo since they play. But at the end of the day the ppl will clean them up and fed them their Addiction food and get cuddles(They're so cuddly >.<). This post has been edited by Reanne: Sep 9 2008, 07:08 PM |

The standard bonding pouches are large enough for 2 gliders, unless they're unbelievably obese, then that'll have to be one in one pouch.
I have restarted my cricket baking project! Wahahahaa.... Who want samples? |

The baked crickets are hard, crispy and smell like roasted nuts.

Yup, they taste like nuts. They have a very nice nutty aroma.
Yup, safe for human consumption. My crickets are pre-gutloaded with fresh stuff and quality cereals for a few days and cleaned before baking. I personally do eat a bit to test. When my gliders crab or bark or hiss in class, I usually pretend it's my handphone if ppl don't know, but usually the class knows, so I just gently cup them so they stop hissing/crabbing/barking before the teacher complains. Yup, the gathering is still on. The details will be out soon. Wanna try adding some spice to the crickets, roasted crickets glazed with agave nectar? MMmm.... You can store in the fridge, it'll slow their metabolism and they eat less. A good side to it is that they don't turn to pupa so fast, if I'm not mistaken.

Mealworms are more difficult as they burn easier, but I'm working with a different equipment than my previous, so will try later on.
As for keeping in the fridge, I kept before wor, for few weeks until they finished, they were perfectly alive. Lol, sure, help is always welcome. |

Sure! Noted.
Mealworms don't need to store in the fridge, can store outside or in your room, I just get annoyed with the lizards stealing them. You should feed mealworms veggie and dry fruits before you give them the dry stuff like oats. After a day remove the fresh stuff and throw in the dry stuff. Don't throw in too much, give only as much as they can eat in 2 days. When buying your mealies, inspect the container first. If there's a lot of dead black mealies, then better not to buy. Usually good places to get good mealworms are shops that sell lots of birds and fishes. Their stock is quite fresh. |

I've eaten before. MMmmm..... Quite yummy.
Okok, no more spam. lol It may take time for gliders to get used to it though, because Miko doesn't take it yet since she's fussy. Even chicken meat she refused at first, had to put the mealworm parallel to the meat, then she bites it together. Then only, she learned chicken meat is yummy! But then, Billie just chomps away at anything. Well, depends on your glider. lol This post has been edited by Reanne: Sep 12 2008, 02:02 AM |

QUOTE(sharil_routh @ Sep 17 2008, 09:39 PM) This is supposed to be glider thread... why lately a lots of people here promote fluff buff cluff stuuff guff here.... Dont spam here.. go to ur own thread. People needs glider information here... QUOTE(JonYeap @ Sep 17 2008, 09:42 PM) yeah lor... always promote here there hor. b4 also promoting petshack like mad hor... why le? i think better just open petshack thread, fluff thread. aint it right? QUOTE(sharil_routh @ Sep 17 2008, 09:43 PM) I don't see them really promoting Fluff, maybe cuz it's spelled with capital letters? The petstore is registered with all capitals, so it's natural to type all in block letters. About the idea of a glider room, I've heard about Pet Shack's and Fluff's, both are very different whereby Pet Shack's is more for people, like a room to hang out with extensions and levels for the gliders to play. But Fluff's is a boxed in cubicle solely for gliders. The walls are meshed and the room is glider-proofed with a window connecting to the outside for ventillation. They're different, ideas done differently, they only share the same name. So should Fluff call theirs the Glider Space/Cabin/Hut/Cubicle? You decide. If you want to count about promoting as just mentioning the name of the store, I see no complaints directed to other parties when they mention other stores like Pet Shack or Toby Pets as well as products. I don't see any relevance with Jon's post and being old-fashioned. If spamming is so bad you can try PMing. |

Hi and welcome to the family.
It's actually a rare case for joeys to suddenly die unless fed an improper diet, too much stress, not fed enough etc. Gliders are quite hardy and I think this may be the first case of a 8.5month old joey to succumb to sudden death in most of our experiences. Before the thought of purchasing a joey, you should go and do further research and learn how to tell the age of the joey on your own as pet stores are not always truthful with what they sell. For instance, certain ppl that only know the proper age of a joey that can leave it's mom get cheated by certain places/ppl as they show you a joey that is barely 4 weeks oop and say it is 2+ months old. This happens because the buyer had not done adequate research to be able to tell what a 2 month old joey looks like. I'm sorry for your loss Kelvin, may she rest in peace. |

Actually gliders that are 4-5 weeks plus can survive more than 12 hours without food. But it does depend on the individual glider. Each glider's stress level is different, but usually gliders that are often handled and used to being taken out won't stress as easily as a glider that has rarely been handled and suddenly put into a pouch to be off to a new home.
For example Phoenix, he never crabs when I handled him everyday but he sensed he was going somewhere when I put him in the pouch and started to be very crabby. He was out with me the whole day before I handed him to KJ and Olivia and that time he was just nice 2 months oop. The night before that he already had a tummy-full of Slurp and fruits, but in the morning I didn't feed him. So technically he did not eat anything other than some mealworms and a bit of juice since I took him out till at night when I handed him over to his new owners and he's doing fine till now. QUOTE(nezumitaro @ Sep 18 2008, 12:39 PM) are you saying that although you both (I say you both because both of you do sales together ma) know that a joey needs to eat 2 to 3 times a day but yet you starved the joey till night. i feel that is cruel yah? Why are you assuming things when you do not know the details? Did we mention that we purposely starved them till night? Since from experience and from other ppl's experience, the joey can survive and stay fine for the whole day when they've eaten their fill at night, Letika was with Kelvin for less than 24 hours, so was she fed the previous night prior to handing over to Kelvin? At least, Kelvin didn't realise he was starving the joey. cos he do feed mealworm, just he don't expect the joey didn't eat it. So, he not purposely do. But this one, you all know ma. why you starve them like that? Of course we didn't 100% starve them, we brought along mealworms and bought some juice for them. We meant feeding them a proper meal. If you didn't notice I bring mealworms to gatherings most of the time. |

You ownself say 'technically he did not eat anything', that means starving right. Sorry eh, my english lousy so maybe I read wrongly but look like you say not eat anything. Why you so defensive? hmmm..... Why now suddenly you say got bring mealworms and fruit juice? So means, you got feed or not? alamak... Why so twisted wan your words? Your 7 week old joey die also no one say anything. Anyways, the joey go out with you whole day is the joey use to your smell so not so stress. Kelvin's joey don't know him at all, new smell wil be stress loh. different right? Sorry ah, I not so expert like you, maybe I see it wrong. QUOTE(nezumitaro @ Sep 18 2008, 01:21 PM) that is what i want to know. cos reanna say 'technically he did not eat anything ' also no die... but then she say..'we didn't 100% starve them, we brought along mealworms and bought some juice for them', so i want to know which is the real story... My posts answer themselves. Didn't feed them in a sense not a proper meal, a bit of mealworms here and there is not considered a meal. The joey was rejected at less than 5 weeks. Maybe you can try reading again before replying. If anything not clear you're more than welcome to PM me or call me. I can explain very.... slowly..... Don't separate the male as the male helps with the upbringing of the joeys. Increase the protein intake with insects, boiled chicken, pinky mice/rats (optional), mealworms etc. Holistic kibble can be offered occasionally as it contains vitamins and minerals, but do remember to check the ingredients. The female should have food and water available to her at all times.wat of special diet shld i give to the female...??? advce pls... =) |
