Btw, that towel in your picture, try not to let your glider play or sleep in it. The thread can cause serious harm to your Cheetah as the thread loops may pull loose and tangle on the limbs.

I think cricket would be worse. It took me a year to get over crickets, mealworms were no problem from the beginning.

Sometimes depending on individual gliders, the fur does fade a bit or turn to darker/lighter shade. This really depends on your glider, like Billie is a dirty grey even though she was light grey with a dirty yellowish head when she was much younger.
Check the skin and fur. If the skin is fine, not flaky, no scabs etc and the fur is soft as usual, not wet/hard, then should be alright. |

Anlene is good too. It depends though, not everyday, every other day is fine, few times a week is also good.
If you're worried bout the added stuff, you can purchase the healthier yogurts, but more expensive of course. This post has been edited by Reanne: Sep 28 2008, 12:43 AM |

Nobody needs to explain themselves, just use common sense. The customers should be able to think for themselves and their own gliders.
1. Her gliders are fed the same Slurp as the ones she sells, why would she want to kill her own gliders? Furthermore, why would she want to cause harm to other ppl's gliders? If she wanted to make profit, won't loyal customers always buy her food and she gets the money regularly? Anyone can google and see gliders live 10 to 15 years, if she made something that could cause harm to them then what's the point of even making it? They live long lives, not like hamsters. 2. The ingredients are mostly composed of organic and human grade ingredients. I have eaten the mix before myself, my gliders have been eating it almost everyday for 2 years. Everyone is still alive and doing very well. They even do better than when on BML. 3. Why send it to Penang? UPM is in Serdang. 4. The maker was not there herself during the analysis. The product may have been contaminated, who knows. 5. The black bits are kelp meal, not seeds. 6. Why all this happen only after she stopped supplying to Pet Shack? Trying to kill competition? While waiting for the reply, for Glider Owners out there who are cautious about the diet and still pending for the answer, maybe these can help a bit for ideas to feed your gliders. Fruits higher in calcium are papaya, figs and rose apple(jambu air) so you can add these fruits more often to your suggie's menu. As a source of protein, hard boiled eggs, scrambled eggs(without salt or pepper) and boiled chicken breast(boiled only with water) can be offered.
Sweet peas(I like to use baby sweet peas), sawi(higher in calcium to phos), romaine lettuce, sweet potatoes etc. My gliders don't like sawi but they eat the rest. Organic baby bottled foods sold in organic stores can be offered too. Watch out for garlic or onions in the ingredients. Here's a menu for those who would like to be more creative with their suggie meals. http://glidersanonymous.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=4371 |
