we have to limit their intake everyday??cuz normally i just put some fruits inside her bowl n let her eat herself when she's hungry...ytd saw minnie almost finish half slice of apple in 1min...

Added on September 26, 2008, 9:28 amwaa...i think my boss will sound me if i bring minnie to work le...
What muchan86 means by limiting mealies is limiting mealworms. Not the fruits. A growing joeys needs all the fruit and nutrition it can get. Mealworms are full of fat and phosphorus besides protein, so that is why we must limit the mealworm intake to about 5-8 mealworms a day.

Wear a shirt lo.. so they wont climb on ur bare skin.

Added on September 26, 2008, 10:33 amhey.. er so gilders can digest pork? Can i give? how much shld i give? can i give everyday ? Is it best to mix with yogurts?
Coz everyday my mixture of fruits and veges + chicken i will add abit of yogurts.
And.. Petshack provided nail trimming service? how much ?
Please do not give pork. If it is in the kibble is ok but not the pork meat. People normally give cooked chicken coz it is easier to digest. Also pork meat is not very high in calcium. The one in kibbled, already processed to be suitable.

thx ya.. i oledy know about wat happen to kelvin and i learn from his experience..thats y i straight away bring Keiko(corrected name)back to my gf home.. but this morning keiko eating and sleeping inside the steel bowl that i bought..my gf try to take her n put inside the pouch, but she crabs..keep on wan to sleep inside the bowl n eating summore..why this happen eh?n how to overcome this?
It is normal for them to want to sleep in their food bowls. One is to be closer to the food source, then it also feels more secure. What you can do is take out the food bowl once you find your joey sleeping inside. It will automatically find another place to sleep, so have the sleeping pouch near the area of the food bowl.

wanna ask...is it we just put some food inside our glider's bowl inside their cage n just let them to eat themselves til finish oni replace more??how to control to prevent them to eat too much or bloated??
QUOTE(^MochI^ @ Sep 26 2008, 01:55 PM)
pinkbaby-Just put their food in the evening/night time when they are most active.. When next morning u see the food finishes.. u add alittle bit more. Till u see some little left overs, i read it from a website. Duno correct anot, correct me if im wrong.
Add a little bit more? Your info is not for fresh food but it is for staple diet, which is very different. Fresh food needs to be changed everyday at each feedings. and no such thing as add a bit more with the left overs. Joeys need 2 feedings a day, in the morning when they are still awake, a light meal and in the evening a bigger meal.

Wild caught, you need patience. Yes, bond like joey and you would need to do tent bonding. You have to gain their trust.

ytd i fed minnie egg...but i duno how much shud give so i just put bout 1 tablespoon for her each day & night...is there any effect??cuz she seems no poo from then...

Please do not feed egg everyday. It is low in calcium.... did you include a high calcium food in the diet? I did mention limit to a teaspoon, not a tablespoon.... Egg is nutritious but you cannot overfeed.

i always handle them with glove..they dont seem to attack my hand..
hope they will react the same way without a glove!!!
ill begin the bonding process tonite!!
wish me luck..
Glove? You shouldn't use gloves. It would just make the bonding process longer.

You should get hold of a good supplement food like GliderSlurp or smoothie.

QUOTE(Jamien @ Sep 27 2008, 12:09 AM)
Hey guys, a few days ago Frey seemed to be having constipation. She kept licking her butt every few minutes. It really freaked me out.
Then I followed Hun's advise and got her some no-sugar, no-preservative, cranberry and apple juice. After 1st night feeding no more vigorous butt licking dy.
She was a little reluctant to take the juice on its own so I used the instant slurp and mix it with the juice. She accepted it and ate it like slurp. On the second night, I added just a little strawberry yogurt (just a small dip at the tip of the spoon) and mixed with her cranberry apple instant slurp. She was making nice chirping noises while she ate it!

Her poop is still a little hard so I'm going to make the mix for her tonight again but she can pass "business" without problems.

So anyone whose glider has constipation, use cranberry juice! Preferably no sugar and no preservatives ya.
Good to know she is improving with the juice.

[attachmentid=607886]
thats Sasha again..
[attachmentid=607894]
thats their cage if u look closely to the right bottom u can see both of them eating.. is the cage too small??
[attachmentid=607895]
thats Mumble, my lazy fat boy..
[attachmentid=607900]
i dont noe why is he looking down maybe its my dog.. oh well.. thats Mumble again.
Slightly underage, maybe 6 weeks OOP.... well, it would be best you get a pic of the tail as well.
The cage is alright for now, but they won't enjoy much height. A cage with height is much better since their are tree animals.
