2.47 alrdy...so ...wat will on par with USD?
Seed; more support statement pls to say usd will in par with AUD smile.gif
*
Commerce people forecast that by the end of the year. AUD will equals to USD.

I just listen to what people are saying, so no solid statements here.

But I think it's going to go down even more. My lecturer said the Lehman Brothers case is just the beginning.
After learning how money comes into the banks, I have a bad feelings about what is going to happen next.

And Australian reserve banks are throwing huge sums of money EVERYDAY so that nobody go bankrupt. by the millions ... dry.gif

NOTE: These are all I heard from my lecturer. True or not I have no idea. Sounds true. AND No legal advice here. You understand that you take whatever I am saying at your own risk.

this possible happen. but think again; australia is M1 currency.so you should know where it is in global market
not bcos resources n commodity; they are no where in the map now

How money come to bank; then u learned that the money go bust in bank with no return minimum right? whistling.gif
well; if RBA is pumping huge, the surplus is drying up.

ask your lecturer, today market went up is it a false alarm of relief or just a so called trying to be happy before we got 6 week downward shits to happen.
*
I'm expecting a 6 weeks of downward shits smile.gif EDIT: and recover next year.
But who knows ... Nobody expect the Lehman brothers thing to come so early.

how about the jobless figure? is sydney going for a huge break?

Melb is still aight..but the impact will come in about Q1 or by end of this Q4.  rolleyes.gif

Property price are overpriced since long ago.
Jobless figure will increase as time goes by, more idiots will lose their houses.
Sydney ... well ... I don't know what will happen but everybody looks calm enough on the streets.

Normal Australian citizens basically don't care OR have no idea what is happening here.

The national reserve bank is nearly empty and the government is giving out money to the senior citizens ...
You guys should know what I am trying to say here.

Melbourne VS Sydney? laugh.gif

I am amazed some of you Malaysians here are actually defending the city they live in in another country.

Why not you defend our own country, Malaysia instead? With all the racism going on and the weird politics and the external laughter from other countries.

Some of you here really need to open your eyes bigger ... seriously.

When you're in Malaysia, you quarrel in Malaysia. Now you're in Australia, you quarrel in Australia. How long do you think this will continue?

are you living anywhere in aus?

there's something that you actually need to know, we defend because we love where we're staying, because it's worth defending. it doesn't matter where is better, syd or melb, bcz we know both are great places to stay.

i think most malaysians will defend malaysia if needed to, i don't know how you came out with the conclusion that we don't "defend" our country. but will you be able to defend it with conviction like how any tom d*** and harry defend cities in australia?
*
I'm living in Sydney. I wouldn't defend any place I live in. Not Malaysia not Sydney. Why? None of them is perfect.

I don't think majority of Malaysians will defend Malaysia like you said.

The reason I'm saying whatever I had said in my previous post is summarized by Ver (read quote below)

QUOTE(Ver @ Oct 20 2008, 03:31 PM)
Erm, instead of competing, why don't we all post what each city has to offer, post it on the top page, so that more students can have an even better overview of the cities and make a great choice for themselves ba =P

I'll start off with Perth, a peaceful city, calm, soothing, nice beaches to enjoy on a slacky saturday, nice multicultural city, and loads of beautiful scenes around here. Plus if you wanna feel back at home / asian, Perth would definately suit you =P
*
It's a matter of personal preference for one to choose where to live in.

How many of you guys reach home at 12 o'clock consecutively with public transport for 2 weeks ?

I've been doing that since my project was due. I've seen nothing whatsoever. I only saw drunk people in the train. No criminals no nothing.

As for the China girl that died from 3rd floor ... let's send our prayers to her shall we?

Any country be it Malaysia or Australia or US ... it's the same. Criminals exist to balance things up. If there are not criminals there are lazy polices. That way the country is more messed up because it is unable to defend itself.

Now Haya and Panda-man, if you still have any concerns about Australian criminal records, kindly do that in private messages.

hi guys..

need some advice here.. tongue.gif
whether should i transfer on the 1st semester or 2nd semester..

this is the situation:
if i wanna transfer on the 1st semester.. i have 4 months holiday to complete all the transfer stuff such as visa, passport, air ticket, buy all sort of clothes *for cold weather* and much more..

but if i wanna transfer on the 2nd semester.. i have only 2 weeks holiday only, and should say even less than 2 weeks as 1 week before the course start, they have the orientation week.. therefore, i have only 1 week to complete all these stuff..

what should i do? transfer on the 1st semester or 2nd semester..
and also the other problem is $$ problem.. that's why i can't decide now..
BTW, this is scary..  shocking.gif  shocking.gif
must be very pain huh.. *pain in heart la..*
*
Hi Lynn,

It's best to transfer into the semester that allows you to fit nicely into the standard plan of the course.

If you join half way and you have to take courses that are supposed to be taken by year 3 (assuming you're transferring into year 2), then you will have a hard time studying.

I myself had experienced ... well still experiencing the difficulty of transferring into third year semester 2 while I am supposed to complete second year semester 2 first before continuing.

I'm taking Engineering and right now in Year 3 semester 3. All the core subjects requires a thorough understanding of Control Systems which is covered in my Year 2 Semester 2 that I have yet to take.

Right now I'm going to the exam hall to face my judgment laugh.gif

i have a problem...i need to study at least 2 years to be able to apply for PR in OZ..but UQ offers me from feb 09 - nov 10..it's less than 2 years.. short of 3 months..what can i do to prolong the period??  other than failing.. lulz
*
There's a way around the 2 years study to get PR.

If you only studied 1.5 years and you feel like staying in Australia, you can ask for another 18 months stay from DIAC.

During that stay you will be working and experience the most of yourself here in Australia. In the same time you must also apply your PR during that period. Then hopefully after 2 years of staying in Australia you can get your PR smile.gif

well.. money is a problem for me in this case.. but i just don't want to spend too much of my parents money on myself.. that's why i'm  rclxub.gif  rclxub.gif  now.. difference of 100k is a big problem as 100k might be useful for my brother around 2 years.. and that time i already graduate and i can work and i can support my family so that my parents' burden not so heavy.. BTW, one of the reason i wanna study in Aus is because the salary there is higher than m'sia.. and i have my uncle staying over there already.. so i'm surely will go there and study.. its just time matter..

at least 1.5 years study over there.. if i'm lucky to get a job there.. then i'll be staying there forever, maybe..
but this 1.5 years.. i'll surely will work part time.. is just that.. the difference quite big between melbourne and sunway.. the currency.. the environment.. the money..  sad.gif

Do you know how much is rental here in Australia ? Do you know how big is the expenditure here in Australia?
If you think Australians earn more than Malaysians. Think twice. As a student in Malaysia I can live myself to near fullest with just RM 1000. I can go out to eat everyday and I still have some pocket money left for clothes.

With the same amount of money I can't live at all in Sydney. If I eat outside everyday in Sydney, I will be spending more than 2k AUD per month here.

Basically if you compare low paid jobs like what I have in the example above ... staying in Malaysia is much better. Unless you're earning 5k, then you can do the conversion because you have the extra money to spend. But keep in mind that you need to save those money for your house next time. House prices are going shooting skyhigh here.

The only thing cheaper here than Malaysia are cars smile.gif

I believe, a large number of participants in this thread, go over to Australia for an overseas education. Experiencing a different culture, different environment, different lifestyle, is part of EDUCATION. Its an education on life. Not academic at all.

Money can rarely buy intangible assets. However, in this rare case, money can buy you an overseas education experience which ... god knows how many people yearn for.
