I think they have a free transfer service, although it's subject to alot of paperwork and a list. I didn't use it when i got here, just popped over to Roma and Greyhounded my way to Toowoomba.

Suggest you ask asap, alot of staff on holiday lol. Went to the Eng block and it's only manned by one person and couldn't get access to the awesome power tools in the lab sad.gif

Skincare is fine, just make sure if you're carrying it, it conforms to the rules on liquids. Coffee powder is fine too, as long as it's sealed (new pack). I brought a bottle of chilli udang also they didn't care much.

Hi, wanna know how's the melbourne weather now?
Need to start packing dy.. But dunno need how many winter clothes.
Is it very cold over there?
*
today is 36 C tomorrow we are heading for 40 till middle of April.the range will be playing around 15C to 45C.
its better if you have money and buy the winter cloth here. Important to have some jumper or warm enough jacket you used in aircond room.
the summer for this period had being alittle cooler than previous 2007.

Actually Melbourne isnt very cold as imagined. During winter, the daytime temperature will be around 10 degree celsius, 1 or 2 degree will only be reached during midnight or early in the morning which usually people are sleeping under their warm quilt. Those very-very-warm jacket which is meant for winter in Canada, Switzerland is not required. A normal jacket with single coating will suffice.

Btw, Melbourne is extremely hot, even hotter than Msia these two days but will be cooler soon.
*
alwayshappy; we are lucky this year. icon_rolleyes.gif its cooler than before.

what is exactly your problem??
do you have a problem with me? or with students generally whom you think does not have as good of a command of english as you??
i just heard from the IDP fella that the COE is the most important thing..other than your visa..and once you get your COE you can start looking for jobs bcos it is held as a proof that you're studying in aussie.

and yeah i know about the tax file thingy too..so much procedures giving me a headache!
*
Meru; even you got ECOE it doesnt mean you are full legally here. You can hold a ECOE but you need to have Visa. Its a vital entry to prove your legality here.ECOE can be bought at a cheap price or with tech this day; any scams can prove to get it done.

QUOTE(Grimm @ Jan 14 2009, 01:04 AM)
I'm transferring to Monash for 1.5 years as I finished my 1.5 years in Sunway. Prob is, I want to take advantage of the 2-years-studying-in-Aussie points for PR. I heard that gives you a rather significantly large amount of points for PR application.

I wonder how I can extend my stay so that I'll get the points for the PR? Maybe I should just enrol in a short course after finishing my degree, to show i've been studying there for 2 years?

Any bright ideas?
*
You better think about it only 6 month before you are done. No reason to big fuss about it. PR is just PR. The selection criteria is going to change from Jan 2009 due to GFC.
priority are given to those who hav qualified skills needed in this part of building the economy.
so; what you planned now might not useful in 2011.

Lol chill. Ah it never occured to me to even print my COE. I have like... 4 COEs so I couldnt be bothered. Doesnt really matter really since most of us have e-visa, so you just need to apply for a TFN and ur ready to work! - since you applied after that April date. From what I know, employers would only ask for your passport number and TFN.
And yes KVR, free sauna. Thats the bright side.

Added on January 14, 2009, 1:19 pmBtw. since most uni starts like at the end of Feb or early March, everyone in Melbourne, lets hang out!
