The PS2 HDD and Network Adapter has an adoption rate close to that of the Sega Saturn, in which case most of these people are from the FF11 and SOCOM camp. Also, I'm sure Sony has told Activision not to put online play in GH3 for the PS2 in order to boost the PS3's online gaming capabilities more. Its just indirectly telling people that, if you want to play GH3 online on the Playstation camp, you gotta do it on the PS3 so you gotta buy a PS3. Same applies to DLC here.
What would have been smart though, is for Activision to release an "expansion-pack" disc for PS2 GH3 owners. The expansion pack of course will feature all the DLC that has been released thus far, sell it a low price-point like how GH: Rock the 80's was sold. However, why they have not still done it is something I'm still wondering about.
