Just got back from Bandung and it was raining everyday from 12pm to midnight (yes, seriously!) in November 2013. So plan all your activities during the day as early as possible. We traveled with a very good driver who charged us reasonable prices and was professional as well. Some places in Bandung can be very jam during the weekend. During our visit, we could not find alot of interesting clothing in the FOs. Some are overpriced pasar malam rip-offs. The only one worth visiting was probably just Rumah Mode and Grande. Strawberries in Tangkuban Parahu is sweet. We negotiated for IDR20,000 for big strawberries in a box.
For taxis, our supir advised to take only Blue Bird and Gemah Ripah (GR) only. He said that there were instances of overcharging and worse, robbing in other taxis. Overall, some places are not pedestrian friendly but still walkable. Airport is about 30 mins from the city, so you can still do some last minute shopping.
