Bandung....nice for its Factory outlets........nice cool weather....nice mount takuban perahu.....friendly beautiful people ......cheap lux restaurants........but must be a bit careful on roadside stall, silap mkn, cirit birit..... but overall bandung is a nice place to visit......from bandung take a car to bogor....go to tmn safari.....

maybe going to bandung again this coming June.....my 3rd trip there let's see what ive yet to explore....seriously, shopping is not my main itinerary maybe to tmn safari indo for the 2nd time maybe go see some local show there in jln dago...yup i'll be staying somewhere in jln dago.i mean planning..hehe

never been to Matta fair before, so i wonder,

1) would there be any bandung trips/package?

2) is it flexible or fix 4d3n 3d2n?

3) normally is the air fair included or i have to book AirAsia in advance?

just came back from bandung.........

trips that i had
- went to the seaside @ pangadaran....(6hours drive from bandung)
- green canyon
- went to some hot water spring..
- went water rafting near the hot spring area..

previous trips
-went to mount takuban perahu

overall was superb..later on will update on my blog

sorry ur statement sounds misLeading i googled its claims to be the biggest indoor theme park but ive yet to verify it..hmm..

anyway, for me if you go to Bandung, it not all bout the shopping...its more about the people and different culture to see there..how they life their lives....how the poor survive n all......have u guys see people make bricks there? have u ever gone to their paddy fields near the hills? for me every place has its specially.......for me bandung its people ......have u ever gone to a shop n not be greeted well by the owner? people there are super friendly? even the "pengamin" /beggers...imagine they sing u a song..then u decline not to give money, they won't say bad stuff to u (although i normally keep small change n 75% of the time give them money out of my courtesy ) , i know i can't be doing this if i happen to pass by the slumps in new delhi or rio...hmmm......in bandung, everywhere they are people......places are crowded or should i say overpopulated....heck the fact the java island accommodates 100million people..bandung itself has 2million people....

i also suggest peeps to go to the safari..kebun binatang in Bogor....3-4hours drive from bandung....n enjoy the roadTrip there.....its a bit messy but i loved it.......anyway, as ive shared here before..u can view my comments in lonelyplanet. just search bandung pilothans

i'll recommend u just bring 1million rupiah if ur staying less then 5 days.... 5k sounds too much...even my last trip to melbourne i didnt bring that much yet I had much fun

+1 do agree that electronic stuff in Indonesia are expensive compared to Malaysia... did u go to B.E.P ? or was it B.E.C = mcm lowyat laa...

places to add....limits to whole java island

1) kebun binatang, bogor....highly recommended by me
2) take a 8hour train to Jogja n see Borobudor n surrounding areas
3) Green Canyon
4) go to mountains like Bromo Mountain (even my old folks go n hike there, don't tell me u cant )

pusing the whole java island also can he can skip jakarta

I think all volcano's are worth a visit thats if ur an adventurous type ..u can even go as far as gunung bromo

Green canyon? yeah, day trip is possible been there in 2010..u can search the pictures at my travel logbook if ur interested
