Just came back from a conference there. Only had half a day to shop. sad.gif
That rumah moda was surprisingly less impressive than Heritage. Within 1.5 hr settle the area compared to Heritage 2 hrs also not finished...

Anyway, I wana go back again mid next year for holiday/shop more. Besides AirAsia (~RM400-500 return trip) KUL to BDO, is there any cheaper way to go there?
Or does Air Asia do promos there?

TQ!

Note: Stayed at Banana Inn, 4 star. Good Bfast spread, polite staff n helpful (all of em), 5 mins from the rumah moda. Has reasonable karaoke in their ground floor if ur into it.

I'm going with a friend to Bandung in Aug (tickets booked de)

We are looking for cheap supir to get us around and save time.

Can someone give some contacts for a supir with the prices they charged?

I see some say 350k some 400k some 300k... Got any difference like vehicle or time?

TQ!

driver attitudes and insights you need to take into account as well as the best service so that you are not useless to spend more money to get better.

Ic ic.
I'm going with a friend who goes often so we arn't too worried in finding places to go to. More of a driver who will be there when needed, and drives reasonably quickly. And doesn't sesat jalan. Very important. biggrin.gif
10AM to 11pm roughly.

Suggestions anyone? Can PM me also if you rather.

As a malaysian expat in jakarta, trust me, do not drive.
I personally drive a manual reasonably well (max ncb) and the driving in indonesia is a different mentally. The taxies are priced ok ok, take bluebird if ur unfamiliar.

I was in grand preanger bandung, great place n atmosphere n service, interesting neighbour hood... a friend and I randomly took a walk down jalan dalem kaum at 8pm... kinda dark n not the place for non-locals.

We found a surprisingly good massage place there thats clean (ubur) and includes a free hair cut. Really, we stood there like 2 idiots looking at the sign judging what kind of massage in such a shady place advertises free hair cut. Didnt regret.

For that hotel, skip the breakfast. It tastes bland, and almost no variation. Also the cold cut meat (2 types) was suspiciously odd tasting.

Unless you wanna go far, take taxies for shopping. Really.
Infact me and my friends walked like 2-3 KM and found shops worth visiting that wasn't on the map. Its ok walking paths and cool weather.

Jakarta Innova + Driver + Petrol was RP 750k /10 hours. Not sure if Bandung is same price, but hope it helps.

Hotel, hard to say bro. Too wide a range. Use Agoda/Tripadvisor.

450k cheap wooo if include supir(driver) and bbm(bahan bakar motor). GJ!

Now MYR vs IDR rugi sikit, but bring more better than bring less.
If you are comfortable with it, call CC and tell them u will be in bandung from xxx to xxx, but always keep an eye on it when its being swiped.

Open the Maybank Forex rate website lo. I have MBB ATM and its set up with my malysian HQ company, so easier for me to get to a BII atm.

I stop worrying about the exact amount, just withdraw 3mil one shot end of story. CC rates was cheaper tho, surprisingly.

They are less conservative there. Like alot less.

That being said, dont wear super micro mini shorts with just a tube top la. (post pics if you do! tongue.gif )

Do note the cold and nyamuk when deciding ur dress code.

Jakarta as of last Saturday was haze free. Surprised to not be able to see KLIA when I landed then. O.O!

----

For convenience, can we start a list where ppl state where they stayed, their rating, the price, and also the supir (rating and price too)?
Something like:

Date of Stay: Month n year at minimum if dont wanna state the date itself
Length of Stay: xx Days
Airline and price:
Hotel Name:
Hotal Star rating: 1-5star, agak agak la.
Hotel Ranking: x/10, 10 being highest
Hotel/Location comments:

Driver/Rental used: Supir or just the vehical rental
Vehical Model:
Cost of Driver/Rental:
Driver/Rental Ranking: x/10
Driver/Rental comments:

Trip comments: Say where u go, anything interesting found or bad happen, great deals, etc etc.

Who has tried the pulau seribu packages?
Can reccomend?
2-10 people, initial planning stages

Its mostly 1.5-2 mil rupiah a night (all in, transport stay 3-4meal activities)

Then theres a few thats 600-700k suddenly, also same package offerings. Not sure can trust.
