QUOTE(lengcaiboy @ Apr 16 2009, 08:05 PM) you can't make microworms per se. you need to get a starter kit from someone who already has microworm. i think felix@spirit of demon might have some for sale. else, ask those members in BSM forum and see if they have some to let go. |

the anal fins still left a lot to be desired from the picture. dorsal fin could be more proportioned as well.

QUOTE(samuelkk @ Aug 21 2009, 07:12 PM) Just wondering. Is it really that fun to have a betta? It is slow moving and nothing much to adore besides the beautiful colour. I went to a fish top near MRR2 (Ampang) and actually have a look at the betta there. It is like looking at a tortoise. LoL. No offence okay. Just want to have a few discussion here. same can be said about your avatar. to each his own. but for me, it's the colour and they way they 'flare'. try joining one of the betta sundays (the next will be hosted in puchong, fyi) and take a look at yourself.Never had a betta before and dont think I would have one unless someone here manage to tell me what it is so special about them. |

QUOTE(spirit of demon @ Aug 25 2009, 02:03 AM) it is up to u... i don't remove my male until the frys are 1 months and above... some said the male will tend to eat the frys.. but, i have no problem with that, and i felt that the survival rate is higher is the frys are accompanied by parents no more dragon liao la... hafto wait for a few more months... Added on August 25, 2009, 2:08 am shorter tail and longer tails is depend on u... long tail need more maintainance and a lot of long tail breeders have move into short tails after they found that short tail looks great while maintainance is easier.. join me lah for the long tail one.. i hardly find long tails halfmoons player now... Added on August 25, 2009, 2:10 amyewlin, why i never see the blue BTF while visit to your house? great looking blue BTF... bobby said my blue BTF lack of opaque gene, as the finange are cello and not white... i have a trial spawn, which i cross a blue mask btf(cello edge) to a platinum female... with the objective to achieve blue btf myself... don't know wat is the outcome.. haha.. possibly, all blue later, as it white are derived from blue... minghan, show ur dragon picture here lah.. hahaha |

QUOTE(selenium @ Aug 30 2009, 02:24 PM) where can i get female Bettas. it seems after 10 years i never touch bettas the females are a rare breed/ NA in ss19 subang jaya used to sell them but i'm not sure if they still do. your best bet is to buy from breeders, but if it's showgrade, it won't come cheap. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Dec 19 2009, 04:17 PM) IMO best quality bettas are always from breeders. that's not always though. there are unethical breeders around who are doing it for the money, so shortcuts were taken by crossing to rosetail lines. the outcome will look great but when you breed it, some rosetails might pop up. it's really disappointing though.i'll put it that their passion, commitment and knowledge ensures the quality. |

QUOTE(fionayee @ Feb 8 2011, 05:35 PM) "Do Not Change The Water" those 'toxic' that you mention is ammonia/nitrate. some trick that we use is to put live plants in the tank. you can use "money plant", water lettuce or even duckweed if necessary (but make sure you don't introduce duckweed into your other tanks, and make sure it doesnt cover the WHOLE tank surface area, they are call weeds for a reason).I know I cannot change the water for the first week. But I need to change the water so that they can grow faster because they excrete a kind of 'toxic' when they grow, right? When can I change the water then? And Regarding my previous question,My aquarium that the frys are in is divided.Quater of the tank is used for my dad's guppy frys and it has 2 bunches water plants that are growing well in there. But I changed the water about 4 days ago(when there wasn't any eggs/fry yet),will there still be infusoria in that water plant? Any ideas on that? And thanks for another great breeding sheet Blissguy,so sorry for your loss infusoria takes quite a while to populate a tank. given that many fry that you might get from a spawn, it won't be enough. if you're really serious into raising your fry, best you prepare fry food like bbs. good luck! Daphnia beats infusoria anyday. If u can get it all the better, can forget about the infusoria.. Make sure from good/clean source.
