@spirit
I start with juv la.. Cant afford for the lost if i start with the adult. laugh.gif Sex still unsure as the juv only 2 months old. Importing a 2 x 1 feet tank for my two juv soon. rolleyes.gif Yea.. Usually those adult with no brooding experience will swallow the eggs. But it does has alot of reason which cause the male swallow the egg like being stressed.

Your the spirit from BSM right? U can see my mac journey at BSM for the pic. laugh.gif

@xUeki
U can get the starter kit from betta4u.com bro.

How many mac fries are u having at the moment now? Oh yea.. Am using 2feet tank also. Haha.. 2*1*1.. Around 55little water. But for 2 fries, i think the tank way too HUGE. laugh.gif

@the_catacombs
Aint sure for show betta, but for wild type. Yes, water parameter plays a big role. Slightly something went wrong with the water, the fish will tell u with showing abnormal symptom.

Woah.. Big mac colony man.. But from ur pic, u do have adult mac right? Btw, can all ur fries live peacefully? Mine i dont think they can. doh.gif

My fries seems to have some strange move. I got 2 fries at the moment, 1 big and 1 small. From what i observed during feeding time, the bigger one always chase away the smaller one by open its big mouth and flaring at it. And almost took all the food that i put it. shocking.gif The pity small fries only eat once after the big 1 got full and swim away.

can guppies live with betta??
*
Guppy might gone in the next day or u wil see them float on the water surface. laugh.gif Anyways, it is always not advisable to keep betta with other fish. But if ur keeping wild type like Macrostoma, u may can keep few of them in a tank.

anyhow i experimented guppies and betta in same tank... so far no casulties... betta and guppies mind their own business..

Woah.. That is a gud news. Seems ya betta quite calm and not aggressive type. Ain't like mine, my wild mac fries is starting to fight with each other already. The big one is nipping the small guy tail.. Even in a 2 feet tank. Both fries are only around 1.5inch long. doh.gif

U never close ya tank? Hahah.. Used to heard ya betta jump out from the tank eh? shocking.gif

@betta9
Water pH doesnt make big fluctuation for show betta as they are fine with water with pH 6.5 - 7. But if ur keeping those wild betta, then u need to keep an eyes for the water parameter.

@inv
Personally i do suggest add a little big of salt (not the cooking salt) for betta is good for them. As it helps in prevent the fish got velvet and fungus. But only for show betta, if wild betta make sure there is 0 salt added unless they are sick.

Hahah.. CT is not easy to keep honestly. So as HM.. If u wanna go for easy keeping and good looking type, PK or HMPK will be your choice. Else u need to keep an eyes for water parameter. Like 2-3days WC once.

@Spirit
Hows ur wild? Doing great? I've just get another 4 juv from haji yesterday. around 3.5cm each.. laugh.gif Now wanna get more plants and hidding place for the juv.
