That's correct. The new 80GB PS3 'Core Pack' was only recently made available in Asia.

Even US and UK not yet have this model. We r blessed to have this model in the country earlier than them =p

hohoho, CECHE06 is really old model. sold out in 2007, i think

if you look at the model number on that website, it's CECHE06, an 80gb version which has already been discontinued.


The one that's gonna be on sale, according to the press release is CECHK06.

I think the Sony guys did a pretty bad cut and paste job for the website. Some of the info there aren't accurate.

If you check out the FAQ, it still says "PLAYSTATION®3 will officially launch in Malaysia on 7 Mar. 2007"

One interesting fact from the FAQ though is this: "PLAYSTATION®Network services will be available during launch. We will enhance the services from time to time."

i havent played any of the selected games bundled with the ps3 on the launch day.. (Resistance, Assassin's Creed, Ninja Gaiden or Ratchet and Clank).. which one is recommended most?

4 of them are pretty nice game. Based on what you want actually. If you like FPS then go for Resistance. If violence action game, Assassins Creed or Ninja Gaiden would be the choice. If you wan adventure or cute cartoon thingys, go for Ratchet.

Note that onli Resistance have online multiplayer features.

I'm also told that those who leave the gaming line for the game competition for too long will be disqualified from the competition, so the issue of those who line up for the competition getting an unfair advantage on the early bird special shouldn't be a problem.

By referring and according to the GAMEAXIS magazine (September 2008), the PS3 launch package will be RM1699 instead of RM1799. Is it something goes wrong?
