Well that would make sense, since they had this whole Soul Calibur thing going. So they must have just pulled the best sounding track from a Soul Calibur OST CD.

I just don't understand why, with so many people managing the event, and the fact that based on what others have posted here that they actually ran a rehersal that no one told them "You DON'T want to play that song here!"

And it was played when the first big wig (the one that needed a translator) came in from inside One Utama, the theme was playing for QUITE a while. It's a pity my camera man didn't catch that part.

But luckily he did managed to get the 2nd part so we can LOL over it here.

i think some "traitor" msia or foreigner was there to witness it and submitted it to kotaku.. how else could thy hv known it?

anyways.. any on of u noticed the error? bfr kotaku pointed it out?

actually come to think of it there were errors itself during the MGS4 launch as well.. the ps3 launch also some of the promoters dont know shits about the ps3 games and titles.. i think LYN can set up a gaming PR firm.. i bet there would be tons of games and console launches in time to come.. hhaa

Well, I'm the one that reported it because I just found it ironic that they were playing the theme during the launch. Given all the noise in the area you could probably only hear it if you were near the stage area. I was standing at the back of all the seats taking shots. I guess I was standing near a speaker cause the sound was clear to me.

My camera man was sitting in the middle row and he told me he didn't notice the tune, but then he's not a Nintendo player.

Judging from the response, I guess when PS4 (if there is a PS4) launches in future, we might have official launching the same time with Singapore... not 2 years later. How ironic when we know that thousands of people already have bought our PS3 elsewhere and this so called first PS3 buyer sounds a bit silly to me.

I think I will need to praise Sony Malaysia on the pricing of the console, peripherals and games... they finally wake up! Now please reduce the price of your blu-ray movie k? Speedy is sucking our blood now! RM99 for a blu-ray movie will be a sweet sweet price!

I'm not part of the news crew, the Kotaku person just mentioned that I reported, cause i submitted the news item to them.

As to hinting the organizers. There I was the moment I figured out the tune the first time as the first sony big wig entered from the area from One Utama itself, I was immediately shocked. And there in front of me was some people from Sony.. Now.. if I were to run up to the station and told them STOP THE MUSIC!!! What do you think would have happened?

I just read the news up at Kotaku and Kombo.... and what the hell?

This just goes to show that(atleast to me) the organizers of the event, Sony Malaysia and I think even Sony HK knows nothing about games. Either that, or they are just being downright lazy to put a Sony published/developed game as a music entrance.

I wonder what Kaz Hirai will think about this....
