although i lost interest in metallica after and justice... would love to see them live.
here's a passable cover song of wake up dead (my fave megadev song) » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « i don't bother to listen to their new tracks/album from experience, the album cover reflects the quality of the songs. this one to me kinda shitty. Recording Cover Songs
QUOTE ......instead of simply wanting to cover a song live, decides it wants to record a cover version of another artist’s song. If you’re interested in a license for recording or selling a copyrighted song, you’ll need what’s called a mechanical license—a license that allows one artist to create a new version of another’s copyrighted song. A mechanical license is so named because the author of the original song does not have to give his or her permission for you to get one—it’s “mechanical.” The Harry Fox Agency is the largest agency in the music business for such licenses, coordinating the royalties between the various constituents (music publishers, performers, etc.). Note that while you are guaranteed a mechanical license for the asking (and paying), the one thing that the original artist can block is another artist releasing the first recording of that song—under certain circumstances, that artist can even block his or her own record company from doing so! |

QUOTE(Vinterstrife @ Nov 9 2011, 09:40 PM) So... What else are you guys listening to these days? [insert Loutallica joke here] thanx for the recommendation. i know what to expect from Blut aus Nord....brutal stuff as usual. as for esoteric never heard of them. funeral doom metal, sounds like my kind of style. lately i'm into this metal genre called shoegaze-post-rock-black metal. check this clip out. don't let their pop sensibilities fooled you. they sound like what if the evil spirit from the film exorcist backed by THE CURE (friday i'm in love).Esoteric's new album available for streaming here: Paragon of Dissonance Blut aus Nord's follow-up to 777 - Sect(s) available here: 777 - The Desanctification » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by fragglerock: Nov 16 2011, 10:12 AM |
