Just watch She Wolf Rude Awakening DVD...

Mustaine duel solo with Al Pitrelli followed by drum solo by Jimmy Degrasso and backed by David Ellefson bass lick give me chill to the bone..

less aggressive on sound guitars or what?
*
The guitar tune become less crunchy maybe because Dave add some mid to the mix. And he re-recorded and omitted some best part of those albums.
Like Take no Prisoner got a whole new vocal by Dave which is he recorded when he 43 while his vocal in the original mix is more gory. In My Darkest Hour dont have Ellefson bass intro. And the whole drum sound is like cardboard.

Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax . . . the rumors are true!

You've been posting and chatting about it for months and we're here now to confirm it . . . Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, and Anthrax will all share the same stage for the first time EVER! Look for the four of us at the Sonisphere shows in Warsaw, Poland and Prague, Czech Republic on June 16 and 19, 2010 with a few more of the festival dates still in the works, you can be sure these shows won't be the only ones.

In the words of Lars: "Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time...what a mindf***! Bring it on!"

What more can we say??

For more info, check out the Sonisphere Festivals site.

"Official" press release below:

* METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH AND ANTHRAX TO PERFORM TOGETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY *

* THE BIG FOUR CONFIRMED FOR SONISPHERE POLAND AND CZECH REPUBLIC *

* MORE BIG FOUR APPEARANCES AT SONISPHERE SHOWS PLANNED *

The world wide web has been abound with speculation on a possible "BIG FOUR" tour for several months. Now, SONISPHERE can exclusively reveal that METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will play together for the first time in history, in a move that will have metalheads across the globe frenzied with excitement.

Says LARS ULRICH/METALLICA of this historic announcement:
"Who would have thought that more than 25 years after its inception, thrash metal's big 4 would not only still be around and more popular than ever, but will now play together for the first time...what a mindf***! Bring it on!"

"It's about f***ing time this happened," declares SLAYER's KERRY KING. "and about time the fans finally get what they want. This is f***ing awesome."

ANTHRAX guitarist SCOTT IAN agrees, commenting on the enormity of the announcement.

"People have been talking about these four bands playing together since 1984. That's twenty-six years of expectation!!! And the thing is, I believe not only will we live up to the expectations, we will shatter them!! No other four bands as influential as the four of us have ever done this. Imagine if The Beatles, Stones, The Who and Zeppelin had done shows? Or Sabbath, Priest, Maiden, Motorhead? Well, I may be getting into some rarified air here but as a fan, that's how big I feel this is."

These four legendary acts broke out of the underground thrash movement to dominate the metal world in the 1980s, selling millions of records and packing arenas across the globe. The metal giants have never before all shared the same stage, despite huge demand. But on 16th June 2010, METALLICA, SLAYER, MEGADETH and ANTHRAX will take to the SONISPHERE stage at Bemowo Airport, Poland, to make the dreams of headbangers the world over become a reality. A second Big Four appearance is planned for SONISPHERE CZECH REPUBLIC three days later, with more SONISPHERE shows featuring the awesome combo to be announced in the coming days and weeks.

"This is a "once-in-a-lifetime" opportunity for Heavy Metal "Fans" to see the four greatest Heavy Metal "Bands" in American History back together on one stage" concludes MEGADETH mainman DAVE MUSTAINE. "If there are any heads left at the end of this Festival that haven't banged, they don't belong there."

Tickets available from www.sonispherefestivals.com

SO IT IS TRUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hope you can get there and make some review! Based on the poster Metallica logo is bigger than Anthrax, Slayer and Megadeth. Maybe because they're more commercially success than other bands. I heard Heaven & Hell gonna be the opening. I'm waiting for drama between Metallica & Dave Mustaine. As well Dave Lombardo vs Lars Ulrich. Head to any of these 'Big 4' website for more news.

CODE
Hey Mega fans,

Won't spend much time on this.

However, one of my guitar students brought in a recent issue of Guitar World magazine containing some simply insane dialog from the man, the myth, the legend (in his own mind), Mustaine.

Over the years, this tragic cat has made a hobby of dissing, exaggerating and just plain lying on some level about nearly every talented musician that has passed through his dysfunctional little ensemble. Literally, spitting in the face of the very folks that covered for his drugged out, sloppy-ass wanking and helped make him successful.

Until now, I chose to keep my mouth shut, even for the VH1 Behind the Music episode.  And boy, could I have eaten up some serious air time with the truth about what REALLY went on "behind the music" in Megadeth.  But it's been well over twenty years and the guy just can't seem to stop himself.

Here he goes again, bragging in the pages of Guitar World about how he allegedly sings the solo melodies to all his lead guitarists!! Seriously, folks? This guy should take his comedy act on the road, if you'll pardon the pun.

Considering how totally wacked out on smack and whatever else he was on at any given time, it's no wonder the old brain cells have trouble getting all the facts straight.  Since I was actually sober and present in the studio at the time, allow me to assist the deluded DETH master...

I can't speak for the others but as exceptional as all the Megadeth lead guys have been, I don't believe his preposterous yarn for a second. Regarding the SFSGSW era sessions: Mustaine was nowhere in the building during any of my rhythm or lead tracking sessions. And since I came into the process at the last minute, there were also NO band rehearsals whatsoever.  So when exactly, did he sing me those solos? Perhaps, he was all coked up one night, snuck in my bedroom and sang sweet nothings in my ears as I slept?

Fact is,  from what I heard of his unedited SFSGSW lead tracks, the guy can barely play his own lead lines, let alone sing some of the stunning lines that Chris, Marty or Glen played.

DEAR DAVE,

LET'S BE CLEAR FOR THE RECORD: YOU WERE NOT IN THE STUDIO WITH ME DURING ANY OF MY TRACKING... NOT ONE SONG - NOT ONE SECOND. YOU KNOW IT AND I KNOW IT. YOU NEED TO STOP BLATANTLY LYING TO YOUR FANS AND IN THE MEDIA.

PERHAPS, NEXT TIME YOU LOOK IN THE MIRROR WITH THE OLE' "Hello me, meet the REAL me" CRAP - YOU'LL PAUSE TO CONSIDER WHY YOU FEEL THE NEED TO CONTINUALLY PERPETUATE RIDICULOUS BULLSHIT AND BELITTLE OTHERS IN ORDER TO MAKE YOUR SELF SEEM MORE SIGNIFICANT OR TALENTED?

YOU CONSIDER YOURSELF A "GENIUS" YET AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, YOU'RE STILL NOT SMART ENOUGH TO COMPREHEND THAT WHEN YOU DIMINISH OTHERS, YOU DIMISH YOURSELF MOST OF ALL - EVEN AS YOU CLEARLY TELEGRAPH YOUR RAGING INSECURITY FOR ANYONE, WITH AN OUNCE OF INSIGHT, TO SEE.

YOU MAY ALSO WANT TO GO BACK AND RE-READ THE LYRICS YOU WROTE IN "LIAR" THEN, CONSIDER THE GIANT GLASS HOUSE YOU'VE BUILT FOR YOURSELF AND PUT YOUR SILLY LITTLE STONES DOWN, ONCE AND FOR ALL.  AT THE VERY LEAST FOR ALL THE PLAYERS THAT HELPED CREATE ALL THE SUCCESS YOU NOW SO ARROGANTLY AND SELFISHLY ENJOY.

OH, AND WHILE WE'RE AT IT: YOU MAY WANT TO STOP TELLING THE WORLD THAT YOU INVENTED THE "SPIDER CHORD!"  CLASSICAL GUITARISTS COMMONLY USE THAT APPROACH AND IT IS CONSIDERED PART OF OUR STANDARD CLASSICAL GUITAR TECHNIQUE, YOU FOOL.

SINCERELY,
JEFF YOUNG

there is more from Jeff's blog. Latest one is on 20.12.2009

Who can't believe that after all this years Dave still talk about Metallica. He also keep mentioning that he has forgave Jr. for the lawsuit case. Seriously why he said like that? He also counter suing Jr. after Jr. attempt to sued him failed. I mean why did he choose word 'forgave', it seem to me like he never make any mistake with his former band members and Jr. is the only one at fault. I like Megadeth music a lot but no one can't deny Dave Mustaine is egomaniac and control freak.

yeah im thinking like that also, i'm really pity with dave elleson(former bass player),
and why u said mustaine still talk about metallica nowdays?
*
because he tend to talk long about that when 1 of those interviewee ask him. This year he talk a lot about him during Endgame session. Remember he said that Scott Ian told him that James gonna fire Lars during early Metallica days? After that, he make open statement at Megadeth website which he stated Scott really told him that. I know he's been in Metallica for 2 years (1981-1983)? So lot of sweet memories for him since he never had a great family and friends during his teen. But it has been mearly 30 years, why dont he just forget it. He have Megadeth. Beside that he make lot of friends after that. Ellefson, Kerry King, Poland, Gar, Jeff, Chuck, Nick, Marty, Jimmy, Al, James (McDonough), Shawn, Glen, JLo, Broderick even King Diamond, Steve Harris and Darrel siblings. Just to name a few.

don't really like Mustaine...but seriously, if there's no Mustaine - there might not even be any thrash metal now...he kinda started the whole 'thrash' style when he tried to play faster than Metallica back in the day - other bands just kinda emulated them... (yupp..i got this notion from that Thrash documentary tongue.gif )

and Marty's totally doing japan pop now - more power to him!
