Wouldnt it be prudent for the TS to upgrade to Firmware 2.0.X since she is experiencing problems with the iPhone and its prompting of the need to be repaired? It is easy for anyone to say to "hold off upgrading because there is a new firmware around the corner", but you dont get her point. She is pretty much in dire straits now since her iPhone is popping up messages to ask itself to be repaired.........and Firmware 2.0.x may do just that. Why ask her to wait even longer while the iPhone is already breathing out of the tubes in ICU?

I see her usage as someone who Is light and casual user. Even equipped with the free apps from Firmware 2.0, she'd be overwhelming herself. But to each his/her own, we've all extolled the virtue of our preferred firmware. It's up to her to decide.
Personally, I don't see a reason to stick with old other than familiarity and comfort zone. The 2.0.2 is plenty stable already and you add Cydia with Appstore, that's a potent mix. There is a few reason why Apple continued to provide better firmwares, namely bugfixes and stability. The only reason why I see all these instability coming from are the unlocking processes itself, Firmware 2.0.2 is plenty stable on it's own.
Although the fact that the bulk of the regular guys here already moving to 2.0 and beyond must have accounted for something, otherwise people won't bother moving from 1.1.4 at all.
