Dear sirs,

my thread in Kopitiam titled "So what happened?" as a chat discussing ianho's and member(s) of the iphone forum issue is deleted around 820pm on 26th August 2008.

i believe i have done no wrong unless u want us to misuse the Main Site/Forum Feedback and Helpdesk threads to talk about the issue, which makes it more confusing as every member would like to have a say in the thread.

i request for an explanation if that is not too much an issue.

thank u

Perhaps the next time a post is deleted, a warning will be issued so that that person will know the reason why by clicking on the warn pip.

im not gonna make a conclusion since theres no evidence of his reply. I'll just wait.

I do appreciate the effort the mod's are making to ensure this forum stays relevant and not like a 'sunken ship'. More so since they doing this without any pay and they have to spare time since they also have jobs and other responsibilities. It was boring when lowyat came offline yesterday, and i couldnt imagine it disappearing altogether.

But what i request is just this, if it's not too much trouble to the mods, just an explanation at what i did wrong, or what some other guys did wrong in replying to the thread. i joined this forum long ago and i know threads are never gonna resurrected if they are deleted.

thats what this subforum is for, isnt it? to complain or query.

I was just saying that we often don't have enough time to pm users on actions we take.

I deleted the post because of its verbiage and tone, and yeah he knows about it.

Ok, i'm going to take time to explain this to you since you asked nicely.

1. i believe your thread was closed/removed due to the fact it was a redundant question. If you read the main page of Helpdesk, you would have found your answer.

2. after you opened it, vincentlee pointed out the link to answer your question.

3. the thread remained opened, and became a flame fest against the moderators in general - 2 suspensions were issued inline with the Kopitiam Troll hunt.

4. We close 40-50 thread in the kopitiam everyday, please don't expect us to send a PM to each thread starter everytime we close a thread explaining our actions. If you feel your thread was wrongfully deleted, you may post a query here and we will try our best to give you a valid reason/explanation.

5. 2HK, i thought you said you were leaving this forum 2 days ago. What brings you back?

How bout a suggestion, for closing thread / deleting post and require notice thing.
I've seen a few times, the advice for finding out what happened is to PM the mod who did it, but does closing thread / deleting post lets the poster know who did it?
So, lets say there's a system notifying the said TS / poster about which mod did the closure, the complaints wouldn't pile up in here, instead they'll PM that said mod.

Hope I explained it clearly. icon_rolleyes.gif

Yep, we'll think of a way of implementing an automated system as described in the near future.
