Long time gamers might experienced this situation..so hard that it frustated, bring nightmare or ran crying for your mom/wife..
just want to find out you guys/gals here have beated the hardest game you ever played. Let me start first my list..

Ikaruga on Dreamcast..ugh where to start ?some stage was so damn hard even before plane icon came out at the start then kabomm!!WTH? even before you start this game will kick ur ass ASAP. The boss super hard with crazy beam/blades attacks.

then original Ninja Gaiden on Xbox, on the hardest difficulty required some serious trigger hair reflexes..and yeah this also apply the same on Ninja Gaiden Sigma.. funny that first chapter the mission just only Ryu must training to death just to meet master Murai.Those ninja just jumping around like crazy..tromented me so much even before fighting Alma

The latest one i played is Uncharted Drake on Crushing mode..with only 2 or 3 shots then you done for..the last part on the deck where Drake has to save Elena, i died 30 times only to win this game by luck..fuhh

BTW beat all the games already..and prove my money whats worth for more coming soon., just my memory a lil bit kabur

DMC3SE.. on level 'dante must die'............
but finally i manage to finih it =)

Top Spin 3 - thumb numbing action. Had to beat Roger Federer in a best of 5 set (3 games each set) in Legends mode. I played Hard difficulty and I played 30 times, lost 30 times. Finally got fed up and toned it down to Medium and beat him.

hahaa playing Ninja Gaiden makes me headache

f***ing hard..

playing ninja gaiden now.. only chapter 6, normal mode,stuck at 1 point, just start the game then game over.... crazy ninjas throwing bombs and slashing you like mad

For me Adventure Island 1 for the NES... tough like hell to beat. The ending abit same like Super Mario Bros' ending.

shinobi on the PS2 was hard.

Of cause Ninja Gaiden Sigma ler(not NG2)...., if you dont believe, go get yourself a copy and get ready to break your controller, heheh....

DMC1 on DMD was rather hard..... DMC3 on DMD is piss easy.

spartan on ps2 (hardest lvl)
the enemy keep on coming like battalion of ants
and u have to kill em all, felt like throwing the controller out the window

should move this thread to console couch.

second, Type J is freakin' irritating

nevertheless, Nina William is damn hawt

playing on hard mode for any games in the market is pure mental / physical torture... some like , some may not..

i dun like playing a game too hard.

the only games that i played hardest mode were:

Silent Hill 1~easy.. 99% of the time light off and walk
Metal Gear Solid 4.~insane.. no comment... not willing to replay it..

hard mode on certain games wears out your console..

imagine stucking at a certain level, and u retry.. each time u retry, it reads the disk and reads... sometimes need to retry the whole level if got mistake. and load and load .. up to 10 times of more..

why not add something to this topic, finally beat the hard mode and replay the mode again and beat it another time.. and the game is put aside to collect dust..

Go play MGS3 on Euro Extreme, then come back and tell me exactly what is insane. Aim for FOXHOUND rank and you'll be ripping your clothes apart.

for me, it would be God of War 2 when fighting Medusa...I think I might break the analog stick coz when fighting her, the only way to survive is to shake the analog stick like crazy...

Me, xarugas, pokey86, marty81 and all those other legendary DMC3 players were once a group in Gamefaqs

I don't wanna say I'm pro. But seriously, anyone who has mastered the art of JCing(jump cancel) can breeze through DMD with relative ease. Any of those pro DMC3 players can beat DMD in less than 2 hours.

Not boasting off or anything, but for me I can breeze through DMC3 on DMD easily as well.

Different story for DMC1 though, that game is brutal!

P.S, thats a combo video. Anyone with half decent skills and creativity can do a combo vid rather well. Its pure gameplay which counts, go look up on pokey86 and you'll see what I mean.

I was in the earlier batch days of DMC3, didn't do so much during the SE days. Vergil kicks ass though!

You go look up on pokey86's new-game DMD run, you'll rarely see that he lets any of those monsters go into DMD mode. Even if they do, they're nearly dead. Strategy plays a big role in DMC3 as well, not just mindless hacking.

After u die at certain point especially du, u need to WATCH back the cutscenes and it cant be SKIPPED !! so irritating !!

for me hardest game everplayed on console is Myst 1 and Myst 2 - Riven... handsdown

Yea I remember dodging the lightning minigame in FFX, that was undeniably frustrating as well.

FFX..after getting thru "hell" ie lightning dodge, chocobo races, fighting dark aeons, etc.. it felt realllyy satisfying hehehe.

Anybody played Shinobi for PS2? The blind boss guy, he's really tough to beat, but I managed to win the game anyway.

Console game? Means open to ALL consoles?

Hardest for me would be getting Mile High Club achievement, COD4 (X360).

That 1 had pushed me to watch the Youtube video on HOW they do it in order for me to get it right a week or 2 was used in the process on my own.

DMC is easy. try getaway:black monday. so hard coz we do not have map or indicator to follow. espcialy when u play the girl character.

ff 12 where u have to fight a legend hunt called yiazmat ....it so annoying since u have to fight a 50 million HP it's a long fight ......but manage to finish...i even don't want to lost/deleted the save...

i have everyone's ultimate weapons.. accept Lulu.. no point getting her ultimate.. apart from her slow attack animation/boobs/sux ulti(may ruined your analog) i dun see any point of dodging 200 times (about 20 minutes)


however.. my grid is 255 for all stats accept for magic and HP.

the hardest in FFX-int is to get 255 luck 100% critical with 99999 dmg regardless of any amour. long farming hours...

the hardest boss is the last one in monster arena and the last boss after all the defeated dark aeons... so damn frustrating until i pay 3 million for 1 hit kill ulti. what's the name of the aeon again ? The end~ FFX int remains idle till today.

i've came across several HARD games...but the game that pissed me off MOST of Silent Hill ...forgotten 2nd or 3rd...

but heck, me still loving Silent Hill thou...cant wait for the PS3 release...

silent hill easy... i replayed the episode 1 around 9 times... until bullet multiplier max.. hardest difficulty.. play splinter cell style.. off the lights from the start to end..

yeap it was just full with puzzle...
silent hill 1 remember the piano room take me 3 month to clear the puzzle darned

i cleared silent hill in a day the first time i played it without walkthroughs this was like in... 1997? cant remember

I can still remember I almost, and that is real close to smacking my PS3 controller on the floor when trying to get the Big Boss emblem on MGS4. Took me almost over 30 tries in the motorbike chase scene and 2 hours of reloading my save file when fighting Screaming Mantis. For all that's worth, I'm able to get the emblem. But thinking back on how I managed to survive those scene really make me impress on myself. On a second I even thought that is someone else!

for ps3, currently it's street fighter IV on medium and harder difficulty with no arcade fightstick. Pulling off an ultra during the heat of battle with rival sagat is a b****.

dynasty warriors...against lubu in chaos level...haha

anyway Slickz, Sagat is an anti-air brawler, try light punch + down light kicks combo follow up by low/high shoryuken, if you have super gauge or revenge gauge charged max already, pull mestu hadoken against him after that shoryuken (assumed that you use Ryu). Cancel attack is best if you fail to do High Shoryuken ..btw I'm still playing SF4 with DS3

for current hardest game atm, Demon Souls is my new nightmare Try beat boss Maneater alone in a new game+..it was crazy..

Demon Souls!!!! if u died , start again the whole level... damn ... but still enjoy playing it .. its feel like playing a ps2 game , i mean the quality of the game .. most of the games for this gen feels almost no challenge at all .. we need games like this ..

getting first on rank8 races with motorstorm : pacific rift...
all racers like 'pelesit' especially monster trucks...

maneater is easy ..... firestorm is his weakest ..

hoh! uhm.. Id have to say, ninja gaiden, hands down. Even on normal mode its fuggin difficult
the other would be ghosts and goblins... i cant rmb where was it from but it was remade to the psp later on and damn was it challenging @_@

hmm my chars all is already maxxed stats 255, all node change to +4, full buff via rikku's overdrive n still get 1 shotted lol...
99999 damage to them with their armor as auto phoenix, auto haste, ribbon n break hp...
thus auto phoenix down FTW...
jz that it take damn freaking long
and if u get unlucky chain of damage its pretty hard...

lol,maxed stat is a must in this fight (255 luck too)
armor
+20% defense
Auto Potion
Auto haste
Auto protect

with only 99X-potion in ur inventory
rikku cast Null-all (overdrive) as soon as battle start (which increase defense)

most people think that with ribbon and break hp limit makes thing battle easier,but it is not
with equipment above, he can only deal 8K ++ to each character,but of course, judgement day still deal 99999
only beware of few things
1. don't let the arms attack,kill them asap
2. diespel him right after 2nd form (he got auto haste)
3. use tri-star (consume 0 mp) since he will drain up all mp
4.diespel character that have been hit by alomation(2nd form,i forgot the skill's name)it has armor break effect
5. quickhit
6. wakka,tidus's overdrive helps to kill arms faster (OD has longer delay,use it when u run out of time)

yup maxed luck as well...

wut i did was jz overdrive spam with auto pheonix and auto life...
since a single hit would kill some1 that would give the others full overdrive...
on revive, auto haste would give them the haste to continue...

rikku's hyper mighty guard gives full buff (every possible buff which is much better than null-all), tidus and wakka jz shoot their overdrives...
