This topic also came out ar? See how serious your accident lor.
Mine last time front crash other's boot and took 2 weeks to repair and come back. smile.gif

For yours if turned upside down means the top also damage right? Then it should be longer, probably 1 month - 2 months. If you miss your car, go to the factory and pay a visit lar. I did that last time.

now my problem is this, the engine block have cracked, the factory said need to go putrajaya registered a dunno what number, if not u cant sell ur car next time. they said it maybe take quite long time, some cars 3 months also havent register the number . sad.gif
then they said after repaired and got the new registration number, they have to drive to jpj check/test the car.

I know it may take very very long time.sad.gif

At least a month. The first or two week, is the time where your insurance adjustor will come to inspect the car, then send for approval. Fastest also need at least a week.

I know the repairing process can be fast, i dun even worry about the repairing process.
Now what I'm worried is the process of registration at JPJ putrajaya there, you know la how "effective" of our government department.....

btw how is total claim works?
is that mean if i pay 20k as downpayment, still got 20k loan, then the insurance will pay bek bank 20k loan and 20k downpayment money to me?

I think do this, get a replacement. Sure you will rugi, but then from what you say, car is a total write off. If it can be repaired, your crumple zones all gone, if needs new roof, if needs new front end.
This method is faster, as you do not need to worry fixing the car, and get a new car sooner. All depends on your insurance though

kevin : u cant get a new 1 , let say the car worth 40k, and u pay 20k downpayment, then u accident and claims total lost, insurance wont be paying back the same amount when u buy ur car, means depreciation or in our term we called betterment. Once u get ur approval in claim, u still have to settle the bank's loan. Means approx u got 15k back, things work like that. Parts are expensive when u get 1 by 1. But ur car condition wont get totaled =) Your chassis not badly effected, only roof, windscreen, and some other minor stuff. Drive carefully next time =) .

FUIYO, so serious leh ur car shocking.gif shocking.gif . Lucky u still ok after that kind of accident thumbup.gif ! But it looks like it would not be tat easy to repair that kind of damage as it involve the crumple zone, engine n bodywork! New car some more. Even if you repair it would involve lots of parts n work. I think it wont be tat safe to be driven anymore.

Last time my friend's car also hit divider and went turtle (a Proton Saga). It took about one whole month for him to get back the car.
As for my case, a lady driver hit my car near to the passenger seat. It took 3 days to fix.

Repair or total lost is up to your insurance company, you can't decide anyway.

By judging at the pictars, I don't think can claim total lost. Some cars are far worse than this.

Your car roof most likely they will ketuk back into shape.

Wah.. it's indeed worst than what i have expected. Even though if somehow the car managed to be repaired, it won't be like original anymore for sure. Because no matter how great the mechanic are, they won't be able to normalize the car's "bone" to 100% which will affected the shape of the car.
Be prepared, the silence in the car when you driving later will probably won't be as quiet as before.

P/S: You seriously should have requested to change to new car.

One more thing is you should appreciate perodua safety tech that save your life and the life of your passenger... Maybe if you get second car next time, it should be a perodua as well. a token of appreciation to thier safety standards.

Should have request from Insurance before you claim see whether it's possible to change whole car or no instead of repair.
You might able to do that but not if they have an expert mechanic with them to inspect the car, they will know it just by look and few knocks.

The important u r fine. What parts need to replace. Depends on ur loan also if wanna sell off. If cant covered the lost just drive it 1st. See got any problem after repair. If fine then no need change 1st. So sad to see that.

I also dunno why have to register, i think it involve on engine part also need register? actually what is engine block ah??
ya bro im fine now, it is my car lo sad.gif
i scare cannot sell off le after accident....sad.gif can teach me what to do? if u guys will u guys sell it??
*
I guess the sales agent is trying to avoid getting a new car for you cause that will claimed a large amount from the insurance company and means they will lose money instead of suppose to earn money from you.
Then the agent probably got some "jalan" with the sub car repair shop that this "big repair" claims which still cheaper than changing car claims will definitely make some money between those 2 party which involved.
(This is only my thought but it might be true. We won't know.)
Suppose from the things to be changed as mentioned, it's nearly like changing a half cut of the car already which will reduced the safety of your car in future when driving. (Original whole body and remounted bone got very big differences.)

If it need to register, could it means the engine is totally replaced with new one? smile.gif

For me, i would try to sell it as soon as possible. Otherwise, use it for light purpose only. Not recommended for another accident with that same car. Good luck.

my advice, check ur car throughly after u get back ur car.better bring to any other workshop to check.what happened to me,they change to the non original part of proton and only repair the appearance, some parts they didn't even touch it.

The important u r fine. What parts need to replace. Depends on ur loan also if wanna sell off. If cant covered the lost just drive it 1st. See got any problem after repair. If fine then no need change 1st. So sad to see that.

Bro, think it's better for you to claim total lost if u dun have confidence in d workshop that's fixing ur car...damage seems pretty bad....
Luckily u n ur gf is alright smile.gif

If u wanna keep on repairing, u better go and pester those workshop fellas daily or at least once in 2 days time so that they can fix ur car faster laugh.gif
M doing it right not coz car also accident, hit a car in front sweat.gif

That's also advice from my fren coz last time his dad's car door was dented, accident and took the shop for a month to repair that!! it's only like juz change that door only la and repaint it...when his mom's wira was hit front and back (quite bad), the repair only took a month plus coz he chased the workshop everyday after work laugh.gif

Juz my 2 cents smile.gif

You can request for total lost from insurance company smile.gif
That was wat i was told, it's like insurance will 'buy' d car from you, fix it and sell it off...but of coz u'll lose some money la coz insurance won't give u at market price since d car was in a bad shape

First of all, thank god you and your gf survived from that accident, secondly, about the car, I personally had a accident before, driving 120km/h hit divider but my car didn't turtle. My car had a lot of problems even after repairing, I totally think it's the mechanic's fault, they are so unprofessional and ah beng ah beng style one. Now they have made my car even worse than ever before.

So in my humble opinion, if you don't want to spend money on buying a new car, at least try to get a good and experienced mechanic. Pricier a bit never mind lar as long as they know what they are doing.

my friends KIA optima hit and run from behind, by lorry, the front end is ok, but when he sent his vehicle to workshop.better crush it to da max.bcoz the chasis all out oledi.so considered totaled.my friend agreed, n then he saw the foreman 'destroy' the car by using bulldozer.huhu.after that he took da pic and sent to the insurance. sweat.gif, n get new car.

btw, u cant feel satisfied after ur car repaired.still lots of 'scar' after the accident

actually the period of repair is depend to which insurance company you stand with. I knew Kurnia's claim will be very messy and take times, you can choose for Mitsui, UniAsia, MultiPurpose next time if you need a good service.

Common issue:
==========
U will feel the car is not urs.
Then will hear something loose sound.
Close door not balance.
The spray looks not balance and can see wave on the place u repaired.
The parts replace with non original(to save their cost but claim with ori parts price<--beware this).
Water run in(If u knocked the door place)

This is true. If ur car chasis is damaged, better go to big and experience workshop since they have better equipment. Small workshop can only ketuk and sometime they can't do it correctly.

Ya. depends on how badly damaged on the car lo, normally insurance will approved within 2 weeks After the repairer submit the claims and repair estimate to insurance company.

If ur car badly damaged like the photo shown, sure nid take months.!
