Received your 875 already?

When I like both speakers, my ears can't help to decide, I always go back to the specs sheet. Look at the frequency response range, power, driver size, etc. The the colour, design etc.

Go for the RS6!

I own a Monitor Audio, so that is my biased vote. tongue.gif I would even go for BR6 over the MS. laugh.gif

Forget about the reviews, when you buy speakers, you buy the one suit your taste, not the one have best review.

His problem here, he likes the sound of both speakers. So this bits and pieces of info can help him decide. nod.gif

Then, let's see which of our poison is the deadliest. tongue.gif

For Monitor Audio Silver Series (RS), you can go audit at Audiophiles Collection (Rave Audio) at CIty Square.

To me MA is a better bet. But thats my view, important is your own ears and your preference's. You take your own CD and Audition them again. Best of luck.

You got a onkyo-txsr875, Nice smile.gif

good job on narrowing down your speaker choices to these two... since they both sound good to u & price is similar, then to me the choice is simple.. just go for the speakers that look good to u or fits ur home deco more. cheers smile.gif

Well at that price, depends on your taste, if u want laid back and yet wide soundstage, give an audition to AAD silver reference 1. Make sure you listen to the Reference series (not the C-series).

It comes with Piano finish. place Acoustic Lim at Amcorp mall.

So it's not about how it sounds anymore. Now he has to consider about the look, color, specs, warranty, brand reputations, etc. Let's give your input (or poison). tongue.gif

since u still haven't made up ur mind, i suggest u go with the MA RS6s... reason, design is longer lasting compared to Mezzos, & Mezzo 6 tweeter designs have holes on top which tend to trap dust & cobwebs etc which will affect sound quality later. So it's a no brainer, go for MA. Cheers dude!

color depends on the deco of your house/av-room... for me, i'm going for cool minimalist look so it has to be glossy piano black... none of the speakers u chose has that so.... i'd just go for the black ? smile.gif

Maybe these would help,

Link from Stereophile

QUOTE
When John Atkinson suggested that I review the Monitor Audio Silver RS6, I never expected the level of realism I ended up hearing from this loudspeaker. There's nothing much more I can say—the flawless and exceptional Silver RS6 gave me more listening pleasure than any other loudspeaker I have reviewed for Stereophile. In my more than 20 years of reviewing, I have not reviewed an audio component that produced greater sound quality per dollar than Monitor Audio's Silver RS6.

Link from diyAudio.com

QUOTE
I listened to MA RS6's at the Northern Hifi Show 06 held at Manchester airport here in the UK. They were running a 5.1 setup off of Chord's new media server and a 5 channel Chord amp, all the source and amplification components summed together cost several times the price of the speakers. However, this is fairly common practice for dealers and manufacturers when demoing equipment.

I must say that I thought that it was once of the best sounding systems of the show. In comparison, the range topping B&W N801 system was coloured, althought I'm almost sure that was a side effect of the room and very poor setup.

Meezo looks so sexy like B&W 700 series.

Anyway, off topic. How much you guys get the Onkyo 875? Currently own NAD T763 and cascade to Marantz PM7001KI for back surround channel. Wish to invest in Blu-ray but need to upgrade amp (due to DTS-HD format).

There was a sale last couple of weeks, straight from Onkyo factory. I think this guy has one more unit left:

EDIT: Looks like you already found the thread. And no more 875, hope there will be second batch. icon_rolleyes.gif
