"To be responsible is not to see the world the way you would like it to be, but as it is"

"Absolute power corrupts absolutely"

What's all this about illegal hacking and unlocking now? I thought the thread was the unveiling of abuse of authority at the highest level in LYN.

*Continues to observe....

QUOTE(stringfellow @ Aug 22 2008, 06:12 PM)
Those are notable quotes, moonstone13.

I already have hinted about the corruption in the moderating system here in LYN. This is just but the tip of the iceberg, already festering at the roots. And it is us, common forum members who are at the whims of this injustice.

Kudos to your courage and initiative to actually point this out.

I mean, how many people would actually go through all the sweat and toil of wrestling with a Mod (the deleting, clicking, posting, getting deleted again...cycle) with one's account on the line.

This is a positive thing (in my opinion anyway).

Just to be fair, I'd like to add that most of the mods are doing a fine job.

Let's not be hasty to condemn the whole lot over a few bad apples. Try to just point the gun (as Vincent likes it) at the Stalins, Hitlers and Mao's.

To add, those who've has similar experiences should speak up as well. This will serve as a collective reminder (the very least) to the Powers-that-be.

Gosh, a few pages later and everything has been blown way out of proportion.

With all due respect, mods have enough on their hands to satisfy daily whims and the chore of cleaning up after forumers. Having said this, it does not justify any form of abuse of power as stated in this (and this alone) case.

Ladies and Gents,

Do try to refrain from inciting more unnecessary flame-bait-ish comments by making generalization and assumptions. Stay on track and wherever possible, throw in a constructive comment or two on how to improve the moderation of LYN (a community that we all share, newbie or not).

FACT: Stringfellow was hustled out of posting his thoughts by ONE mod.
FICTION: All Mods are bad candidates for PM.
