Btw, my D40 is 2nd hand bought from someone in LYN. Still got 5 months warranty. If they know I am not the original owner (the name in warranty card) will they refuse to service my nikon for me? and if there's only very little dust (one or 2) will they say "good condition no need service"?

can i bring the camera bag onto the plane with me??
And can the camera b checked under the x ray machine? will it cause any harm to my camera??

Hey add me to the D40 list. I go myself a 18-200mm VR 2nd-hand and I loved it for being almost permanently stuck to my D40. the VR really allows 3-4 stops down for a hand-held shutter speed. Man I love Nikon.

By the way, I helped a friend as cameraman for a small wedding. I used the 18-200mm cos that's all I have except the kin lens. Indoor shots are a major headache. Looking towards inproving my gear a bit. Which should I go for- SB-600 or 50mm  1.8D? the lens is a cheap one and a big apeture would open up lots of possibilities for me, but the only gripe is that I will have to manual focus. Anyone tried using the 50mm on a D40/D40x/D60 and would share exp on how easy/hard to use?

If you haven't used the 250 before, then I don't suggest jumping straight to 202. The 202 has very narrow DOF and focusing is one big challenge.
