another tricks,

take off the flash and manually press the test flash button. ask someone to operate ur d40.

What D means is that it has an aperture ring. Which means you can operate the aperture manually.

1=1...
D is not the aperture ring availability...
D is to signify that the lense have distance capability to be used with metering...
G = no aperture ring...

that trick is using one single exposure shot. By pressing the flash manually rapid, will create the image of the subjects.

I am surprised by DCM this month. Usually, people have been saying how they are biased but today, I read the latest issue and while not explicitly saying so, they pretty much said that the D60 is the best beginner dslr out there, winning over the A300 and 1000D.

yeah we can all see that...esp when it comes to their tut...all are using canon de..

I also planing to buy D40 since I'm in the tight budget and this is the first time to use dslr.
But still not sure whether D40 or D60. D60 kit come with the VR lense not like D40 with none VR lense kit.

How about D40 lense is it very expensive if in future want to upgarde the lense?

How about the photo printing quality in 8R or 12R compare with D60?

still in dilema . I'm afraid i will regret buying D40 if all the lense for D40 will out of stock since this D40 also old stock.

is something you can play around with your flashgun,for example put your flash in a distance,command it and bang,then picture result mostly is a wow!

reply to shiinkuro31 as well,d40 has the feature to do CLS but it cannot command your flash gun.
alternatively you can buy SC-01 cable cord or if u wanna do it wirelessly with limited budget,just buy what i have bought,some china brand flash trigger named PT 04,is fun to play with it
