Anyone with suggestions?
I currently have a D60 ,Kitlens and a 50mm 1.8 . I'm planning to sell my 50mm 1.8 to fund for other portrait lens as this lens can't AF with d60 and that is just VERY disturbing. Anyone with suggestions on what should i get next?

Wow, crap. I just checked most of the lenses. The lens that i want doesn't AF with this d60. Damn, i so regret getting a D60 now. What the heck man.

If can't AF then what lens should one get laa? Omg, i'm really out of my mind right now. Am on low budget, and buying cheap lens will need me to Manual Focus it. my god.

I'd opt for 2nd choice FIRST since i already have a d40, so why hurry to upgrade to a better body but get stucked with a lousier lens?

actually i was thinking to change the body, den i can proceed wit any lens without need to worry whether the lens is AFS anot...

It has been a while since I post my last message. Since then, I already sold my Nikon D60's kit lens and replaced with Tamron 17-50 f2.8. The experience of picture taking has changed. The tammy added with SB600 works amazingly, really. To be frank I was initially very excited with my D60 + kit lens. But after 7 months I started to realized it has a lot of limitation. One of it is poor picture at poor lighting. I have contemplated to sell D60 + kit lens and replace with D90 but that is not a sensible option since budget is an issue. So I consider to purchase big aperture lens but they are really expensive. After much research, I eventually settle with Tamron 17-50 f2.8.

I realized a lot of people has concern about the non-motorized body for D60 but for me that no longer a concern. I realized Canon which is designed by engineers (Nikon is designed by photographer) has long been upgraded to non-motorized body and use motorized lens. Therefore, in the future, I believe all lens designed by Nikon will be a motorized one. In fact, that will be the future. Sooner or later, non - motorized lens will be obsolete. The way I look at is this... if Nikkor lens is pricey, do consider Tamron or Sigma... they are good. I was quite surprise with Tamron lens, they are very sharp and nice. Best of all, they are affordable. However, one disadvantage of Tamron and Sigma (3rd party lens) are many of them do not have VR technology but they are slowly coming out with VR technology (Vibration Compensator for Tamron and Optical Stability for Sigma). I think VR is required when you buy big zoom lens. That is why for big aperture lens I only consider Tamron 17-50 f2.8. For affordable zoom lens, right now I am considering Nikkor 70-300mm AF-S (can use for full frame camera too) and I am definitely aiming for Nikkor 50mm AF-S. Wonder when will it be available in Malaysia?

Overall, I feel adequate with my D60 + Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 + SB600 and I am happy with it. Together with Nikkor 70-300mm AF-S and Nikkor 50mm AF-S it will be just perfect for prosumer photographer like me. I still RM3000 plus though to get the two lens..hehehe!
