That's expensive for a fan.

Has anyone thought of playing around with the electrical wiring to get the same effect. ie. When the aircon compresson is stopped, trigger the ceiling fan. So let say if you set your aircond temp as 24-25(very easy to trigger the compressor to stop at night), and the fan will start immediately after the compressor is stopped temporarily. I heard that it can be done by getting a wireman to add a relay or something...

Any electrical engineer here? smile.gif

Hi,

Does anyone know whether the default level 1 speed of the fan can be controlled by wiring? Some fan spin fast and some spin slowly in Level 1 let say, can we set the speed for level one during installation? I'm the type who enjoy slow spinning some fans are just spinning too fast even at level 1.. Anyone can share ur idea?

Guys.. does anyone know how to change the default speed when you turn on the fan (Alpha, or Euro-uno using remote control set) ?

I am one who prefer low spinning speed, but these fans switch-on by default 2nd speed. And each time i have to use the remote to change them back to level 1. It is annoying, I would have just bot the regulator sets if I knew this earlier..

btw..fyi : Alpha remote is way better than Euro's in term of its effective range. I could change the level on Alpha fan without taking it off its hook which is screwed onto the wall. But for euro, i have to take it off, point it directly to the fan to get the level changed.. That's the difference.

It seems like having remote ceiling fan is not so reliable and easily spoilt <5 years....

Better to get the regulator ceiling fan(no remote) and less problem...........and also cheaper...
*
a lot of remote controlled ceiling fan auto-turnon the fan with speed 2 or speed 3 if you switch it on thru the main switch!! ie. my Alpha fan auto speed 3, and eurouno auto turnon at speed 2 , i think! And this is not resettable.. rclxub.gif That is annoying, if you are those who doesn't enjoy strong blowing air you would have to adjust the speed via the remote everytime you turn it on! So, if i have to change the fan I will no doubt go back to regulator type.

And beware when you are buying Alpha remote controlled ceiling fan. Alpha remote is using RF, I've 3 alpha fans installed upstairs in all my rooms...and due to this RF signal, if you try to set the speed via one remote, the other fan in the other room will get the signal too!! rclxub.gif if anyone found a solution pls share here!

there is a dip switch in the Alpha remote and the ceiling fan itself, I made a change to one of the ceiling fan and it is now only works on that set...problem solved now.

Just to survey.
You all will prefer the old conventional fan which u need to do on/off and change the speed manually OR using the remote controlled type?
*
I regretted getting the remote control type.. the usual old regulator is a better option! Reason being, most brands default the speed to 2nd level when you switch it on... and that is not my choice as I always wanted it as 1st speed.. So, now I have to 1) switch on the fan, 2) use the remote to turn it down to 1st speed... hates it!

+ and this applies to eurouno and alpha remote controlled ceiling fans

Finally purchased rest of three units KDK from Housing ligthning ...
other all my house contained two brand of fan

DEKA Q8 - 4 units for all the room
http://deka.my/index.php?option=com_conten...d=66&Itemid=253

KDK K14X8-GY - 4 units for rest of area
http://www.kdk.com.my/product/?p=298

So even if one of the romote control KO, still have other able to use smile.gif
Now wait for my electrician to get rest of 7 units in place....woooo

bro..
depends on whether the remote control works basis on infrared or RF.. If it is RF, it wil have pro and cons.. Pro : u can share the remote of course.. Cons : You press speed 3 on one fan, the other nearby (even in a different room, same floor) one will react the same..

Alpha fan remote is using RF..and that's the problem I had.. I have to manually adjust the pin at the fan and the remote for each of them to differenciate their frequencies..

was using euro uno for the past 1 year, recently the remote just gone haywire, have to press the reset button everytime we need to power it on, before the remote can be used. thinking to change it to kdk.

Avoid them like the plague!! My 5-blades ceiling fan is moving like as if it has been working for 10 years, but in fact it is just about 1.5 yo! They want to charge me RM50 for transportation, but my warranty card says RM35! I guess they increased the charge just becoz they are based in Rawang now instead of kota damansara... Just avoid them buddy!

Yeah, thanks for the information.
I can't wait for it to break down completely.
I'll change it to KDK or Alpha.

I have Alpha, the other is Fanco. Both are still running strong except this joker EN , all fans were bought at the same time...

i'm using Alpha too, almost 3 yrs + still going strong... the only -ve is the remote control which seems to be using radio frequency or something,,turn on a fan in room a, room b fan gets to start spinning too... biggrin.gif If anyone has the same problem, just try to tweak the frequency setting in BOTH the fan and the remote unit..
