Hi. Anyone use white color fan? Is it easily spot the blade edges becomes dark over time due to dust accumulate? How is it compared to say black color fan? Any experience?
*
Your white colour fan meaning ? Casing ? Blades ?

All fans blades require regular cleaning. If you see with a sharp focus, one can see dust within few days after cleaning.

Price of the aircon have never been an issue.. turning it on 12 hours a day (which i can do wit a fan) will be an issue....

So the atas fan serves my purpose better...
*
There is one forumer trying to sell his 'special fan' or what he called 'Circulating Fan'. His claimed .... it works better than any fan and saves electricity.

Okay... Cuz I'm planning to install a regulator fan but I have no experience in installing regulator.
Anyone know where can I get the piece of extra wire to connect the regulator to fan switch ?
*
Use any single core wire

Wanted to check to installer, installing the baby fan with + a new hook will be simpler/pricier
or installing these baby fan with just the ball joint plate?  hmm.gif

Which one more work & higher price?
*
Is not much different to an experienced installer. He says is 'complicated' to justified the charges.

Btw, he wont see you for the next couple of years after installation.

Just wanted to find out the cost and work involved in case the contractor wanted to charge me more for drilling which suppose to be easier so I have something to argue about. You know sometimes they want to charge you more on something you don't know and claim that's "Unique and Difficult"
*
There is nothing to argue.

All he can say is he shall not be responsible if the fan drops down. That is enough to frighten inexperience and pay up.

Is this the case in your opinion that the drill are less secure compared to hook?

An experience installer should know how to advise you.

Most important he does a good and neat job. If is extra 30 to 50 bucks and you can afford and happy with the result.

That is my view.

Ok I just gonna be transparent on this.

I don't get to deal with the installer itself, there is an intermediate person who may not have the full knowledge of the installation and just gonna be bragging about stuffs that they might not know.

High chances this fella just gonna be acting like they know everything and never heard of installation method through drilling, why I know this, because it appear I know stuffs more than he do on many thing I asks, you may ask me to change to other installer, but this is a package they included for this part which I have to live with.

Reason why I asked so much here is to make sure I know what I paid for instead of just plainly paying 30 or 50 bucks on something that is not justifiable.
Of course in the end it also influence the decision I have to make on which fan I should purchase, a baby fan with a hook, or like KDK and Panasonic which is drilling.

Brand wise and quality of course KDK and Panasonic is more reputable, but I have to live with drilling method of their fan installation and challenge any unreasonable claim from their side which they did not want to explore.

So now the option to totally let them do what they think right is not an option here, I need to keep an eye on it.
*
This room originally came with a fan hook. Because my spouse wanted a 'high' ceiling look, we installed a KDK baby fan. I cut away the hook so that I can centralised the fan.

This is Alpha baby fan with hook.

You can buy the fan and look for your own installer. Dont need to go through the guy.

Hi guys any 42" - 48" Baby fan to recommend with LED light? Looking for low budget value for money option..

And are all these Baby fan need hook? Heard Panasonic only use drill, would it be an issue on safety?
*
The slight nuisance of the kdk fan is when after cleaning the blades, the fan is out of alignment with the casing and scratching sound will be heard during operation.

You need to manually aligned it to remove the sound.

Now coming back again to the installation, the market practise is that ready hook installation charges is couple of tens cheaper than if drilling is required.

If is between hook or plate, is still the same, maybe just extra one or two drilling.

The alpha baby fan is the same as my other alpha 60 inches fan except for the shorter blade.

Owhh that's a nuisance when in a small room... is it difficult to align back to normal?

Btw my room existing no hook because it is a small room,
so plate naturally an option to me now, otherwise I think I would just no brainer go for a hooked unit.

Did considered wall fan/ceiling oscillating fan, but the air distribution too focused
*
Not difficult.

Tilt left, tilt right and within 2 to 3 rounds on and off, you should find the alignment.

Using more than 10 years. Just two years ago, the remote spoilt and is now just at 1 speed. I am ok with it so I left it alone without repairing.

If my plaster ceiling is 9.5ft height (concrete ceiling 11ft height), should I buy 1.5 ft (18") J hook for my ceiling fan? Is it stable to have this long J hook?

I have not approached plaster ceiling contractor yet, and I'm asking just in case my contractor will just attach wooden beam on top to the aluminium frames
*
You need a U-hook.

Not sure you can buy those ready made for the length, otherwise you approach the grille shop to customised one.

But what about the D hook Mr/Ms mini orchard suggested? I saw there's 18" and I just need to drill and mount on concrete ceiling.

That will suit your need. Buy the nearest length. Longer better than shorter.

Dear sifus, I am planning to change my fan soon. Since my room is pretty tight, I need a fan with LED light. Came across with this KDK Nodoka JR K12UC (120cm/48").

Any comment about this model? Is this the DC brushless motor and easy to repair/maintain?
Since this unit need WiFi connection, if one day the internet not working meaning that the fan will not move?
*
Your answers are above your post except for the fan review.

I believed things that can control through wifi will also have a remote. Even without wifi or a missing remote, many can continue to function through wall switch.

Computers can still function without wifi, albeit not for online work.

Quick question. Sorry if asked before, but is there any difference between 3 blade and 5 blade fan of the same size?

I'm looking at Alpha AX70. Thanks in advance.
